That happened to my son during a T-Ball game that my husband was coaching. He was 5, and apparently didn't need to go 3 minutes prior to going to the outfield. As soon as he got out there, he told my husband he had to go, and started the pee-pee dance. Well, by the time he got off the field and to the nearest bathroom, it was too late. I felt terrible for him! He was so embarrassed! We told everyone he spilt water on himself (he didn't want to leave to go home). I have 4 boys. I could go on and on with these stories. Tha tis just what they do! Playing is SOOO much more important than stopping for a pee-pee break! They learn...eventually!

I was at Disney World in Orlando one year at Christmas, so it was crowded. There was a line of about 6-8 women waiting, when a woman rushed in with a girl of around 4-5, asking if she could go to the head of the line because the girl had to go, urgently. All of us nodded yes, except the woman at the head of the line, who pushed past her when the next stall became available. Well, the little girl wet herself before the next stall became available and cried and cried- cold, wet, and embarrassed. I hope the woman who said no had a really full bladder!! It happens. This was maybe 2 yrs ago. And the woman who said no was maybe 65ish, so not a compassionate grandmotherly type.

Sometimes kids are so occupied by thier surroundings to not know the pee until it becomes urgent! You can not benegative if this is the early stages of after training or during. However if it's consistant, first check with the pediatrician to make sure there's no issues. If not have them give you suggestions. But if it continues and happens ALOT with no health issues.....prompt them frequently before hand. Do you have to pee?
Here's a story for you:
My son when he was 4, he is now 13, when we went to the beach I asked him....if you have to potty tell me now because it was a long walk to it. He said no! I said are you sure, why don't you try? He said yes I'm sure, mommy. Okay. We go on to the sand walk forever and get to where we need to be. And guess what.....10 minutes later(basically the walk)....I have to potty.....BIG HUGE SIGH!....Well your gonna have to pee behind the bush......(he wouldnt have made it to the peir)....he cried so much cause he was shy.....I dont want to....well I asked you. So go here....lol...(we had no choice)....I even asked him could he make it to the peir....no, mommy. So he had an anxiety attack..(not literally) about going behind the bush...noone could see him. But he did it and felt embarassed forever! Let me tell you this......he always went after I asked then....LOL

my children did that, as ALL children do. It's part of potty training. Some kids don't understand how to tell the i can wait a little urge from the go now go right this minute urge. Best thing to do is until around the age 5 or maybe 4 always ALWAYS keep spare clothing in the trunk at all times...lol g/l

This happened to my daughter when she was 3. We were at the park, and she was playing with her new friends. A few times I asked her if she needed to go and she said no. About half an hour after we arrived at the park, she said "Mommy i need the potty." I said " Okay, let's go to the coffee shop over there (5 minute walk) and you can go there." She said "No mommy no! I REALLY have to go!" She started holding herself and doing the peepee dance. I grabbed her hand and started running toward the coffee shop hoping she was overreacting, But we just got past the park gates when she suddenly stopped, looked down and said "Uh-Oh". Before I could turn around to see what happened I heard a hissing sound. Before I knew it a big puddle appeared. I sighed, and then laughed. She was hysterically crying. She only had a few more accidents after that. She is now 11 and growing up so fast! (Period and everything!) time flies :)

Yes, lots of times, especially when he was being potty trained. Even after sometimes he would have an accident. One time we had walked down the street to the store and my son (who was 2) got tired on the way back and my husband picked him up. Suddenly my son got this look on his face and told us he had to pee. We tried to get him to hold it in but he couldn't, and wet himself AND my husband, who was still holding him. We just took him up to our apartment and they both took a bath. My son's almost 6 now and is fine and dandy with the bathroom stuff.

This happened to my first son when he was 5 years old. It was terrible embarrassing for him and for me. I was at first very irritated with him, and was very matter of fact with him. When he started crying, he told me "that's why I didn't tell you, cause I thought you'd get mad". It made me realize that I tend to drag my kids along with me, rather than spend time with them. I learned to make them part of the the whole shopping experience.
We'll go to a store I need to go, then we'll go to a store they'd like to go. I learned how to be as patient as I'd like them to be when I'm shopping. It was a good lesson in humility. When we are grocery shopping, I give my older children a list and have them do some of the shopping and I take the little guy with me and we do the more calculated shopping (picking meat, ordering lbs., picking fruit).
Also, I do try to get to the bathroom with them at least once each hour and tell them to try to go a little bit, so we don't have emergencies.

That actually happened to my son when he was 3.. It happened in a grocery store and my husband was running him in there when he peed his pants. My son was really embarrassed about it, but we explained that next time he just needs to tell us earlier. He's almost 5 now and that has never happened since then..
