I am wondering if it's ok to place food in my crockpot, place it in the fridge over night, then cook it the next morning? Since it is a ceramic pot, is there a chance that it will crack?

If you start on a low setting, you should be fine. Thermal cracking is more of a problem with glass than ceramic. Also when the temperature change is too quick. Be careful of how long the center of the crock pot will take to heat up, you may want to give it a stir after an hour or so. Good luck!

My crockpot instructions said NOT to put the crock in the fridge.

Check your instructions and follow the recommendation.

Good Luck!

No, I think it will be fine. I usually make sauces and stews in my crockpot, and I always keep the leftovers right in the crockpot and put in my refrigerator to be reheated the next day. Mines has never cracked.

it will be fine. it is the same as putting something from the frig. direstly in the oven. it will break if the oven is preheated but it you put it in a cold oven it warms up slowly and what is slower to warm up than a crock pot

I have often done that. I start it on the low setting for the first 30 minutes or so. There won't be any problem with it.
