There is a guy I like very much, and he likes me as well. But all my friends completely hate him. They regard him as "weird" and refuse to even give him a chance. All they do in my presence is bitching about how they hate him. This has caused me to actually keep my feelings a secret, because I know they would freak out if they knew. Why are my friends acting like jerks? And what should I do?

There comes a time when you have to do what makes you happy regardless of how your friends feel. This is your life and these are your feelings. Real friends will stand by you and be happy for you when you are happy. It is actually none of their business who you like unless they are worried about your safety or you getting hurt. Give the guy a chance and do what you feel is right for you. Your friends should support you if they are really true friends.

Depends how old you are. If your a Jr high kid you need your friends till high school after h school you'll need to get a husband cause thats a start to a family. You know. You don't want to end up like that lonely fat girl at the end of the bar.

Thats tough because friends are such a big influence on decisions. but now, usually i would say maybe your friends are making good points and you should consider them. but in this case if all they are saying is that he is weird, then they are not being good friends. be with him and see how it goes, they will get over it when they see you are happy, or say i told you so if he turns out to be a total freak

Either in the way you chose your friends , or about your bf !
But be carefull !

Maybe they have good reasons for that hate !

If they are your real friends then they would understand your feelings and respect them. Dont care what other people think girl it is your life and dont let them run it by telling you who you can date and like. If they dont like him that is there problem not yours and they might be just jealous that he dont like them that he likes you.

It's your life. They may be jealous of your friendship or just be mean. Because he isn't as they think he should be doesn't make him weird, or unacceptable. Your choice.

your friends suck......they sound really superficial......
who cares what your friends think......if you want him go for it......do what makes you happy.....why should you have to sacrifice a chance for something great......this guy could really make you feel good inside and theyre stomping all over it.........
if theyre your real friends they should support you and keep their mouths shut about it.......
NEVER keep your feelings inside for too long........this really hurts and does alot of damage......

ask your self are you really like him??? than try to explains to your friend that you are like him... if they are really your friend than thing will change... if not don't care about what people say... good luck..
