I know there is a person asking the question, but I try to imagine what that person is feeling. I ask myself sometimes if that person is hurting, and have they ever been showed love. I try my best not to be insulting to others but sometimes my tongue is quicker than my brain. Then I think sometimes that even Jesus showed love by being blunt to but there is a fine line to that too.

When you place content in a public forum you risk the consequences associated with a response.
My feeble attempts at tact and poise not withstanding, yes it pains me to hurt feelings -- but I don't take offense to another's issue with something I have said in this place.
If everybody agreed on everything the bulk of us would be unnecessary. A sharp reply from a rapier wit or the dressing down of somebody's idiotic rant is not a bad thing in and of itself.

Yes. I always do. I have typed entire snide answers and then canceled them because I knew that I would hurt someone's feelings.
But if the question is intended to bait and anger people from the outset, I will give it back with both barrels.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen...etc.

It's difficult some times to realize it's a person and not the avatar asking the questions, but I always try to keep it in mind, yes.

None of us should ever take any answers seriously. We are all anonymous and that gives us freedom to respond at will. If you get a nasty response, just give it a negative rating and move on. This is not real life and none of the insults are personal because of our anonymity.

Of course. I never intend to offend anyone. Some people get offended at me merely because I believe differently and that causes them to insult me. One Christian woman told me that I'm a nothing. I still have no idea how I offended her! :) I'm pretty careful to be kind to everyone, but I refuse to alter my beliefs or personality to please anyone. :)

Have you ever stopped to think that sometimes people ask
questions in an effort to get people all rilled up. So much so
that they resort to insults and expletives solely for their own enjoyment.

Did you ever think the world would be a much better place if people took lessons from a duck? That is ... they let the water roll off their back?
When did this pandemic of 'spinal osteoperosis' start? People need to start growing some backbone, seriously. And feathers, on their back.
