Like many of us, he's probably been reincarnated several times between then and now. He may be the Dalai Lama.

Yes. Not in person, but we see things happening.
But when will this happen? Four of Jesus' disciples put that question to him. They asked: "What will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things [or, as some Bible translations say, "the end of the world"]?" Jesus answered: "Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another." (Matthew 24:3, 7) In the parallel account at Luke 21:10, 11, Jesus added: "There will be . . . in one place after another pestilences . . . , and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs."
Notice that Jesus did not say that pestilences alone would show that the end was near. Rather, he also listed great wars, earthquakes, and food shortages. In his detailed prophecy found at Matthew 24 and 25, Mark 13, and Luke 21, Jesus foretold many other things that were to occur. All of them would have to occur together before God would take action to bring an end to wickedness on earth. The evidence is strong that we are now living in that period.

I believe He COULD. But after the Disappointment of 1988, I'm not holding my breath this time.
[The Jews returned to Israel in 1948. A Biblical Generation is 40 years. So why didn't He show up in '88? I don't know. Maybe God is counting from His validation of them in the 1967 6-day war. Somehow I don't buy that God would validate the Mayan calendar over His own Word. But hey, He can do as He pleases.]

Ahhh, I see you have been reading the answers from other questions here regarding the end times.
My answer, according to what is going on in the world, considering the turmoil in the middle east and how it relates and it's direct connection to the prophecies in the book of Daniel, Matthew, Revelation, I believe so, but I also know this, it say's in the book of Matthew, Jesus say's
Mat 24:36 ¶ But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Its very possible.
Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father..
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Yes, I believe he's in the Earth right now. Some of the dust you're breathing might be Jesus' old decomposed body.

Jesus will not be returning to the earth.
Jesus is reigning as king of God's heavenly kingdom.
He is a spiritual being now.He will take the lead in God's great war of Armaggedon but that will also be on a spiritual level - we will not see him with our naked eyes. But we will discern what is occuring.

HAHA! Christians have been predicting that one for 2,000 years and haven't gotten right a single time. Lousy track record, wouldn't you say?

He's still here...
In the ground about 6 feet under, somewhere overseas.
He would be a little hard to identify at this point though I think....
