how could God considere marijuana evil? He created it and surely he did not intend for it's sole purpose to be the making of ropes!
marijuana is not evil----it is illegal and being illegal it carries with it a certain amount of paranoia, even tho it is being decriminlised----marijuana continues to be illegal and in most places of employment a person would be dismissed if thc were found in thier urine
i am confident that God's intention for the creation of marijuana was for the opportunity to be forwarded to man to become more aware and it is this very reason The Man does not allow the use of marijuana---he must keep us under some kind of control
i remember back in the late 60s and early 70s I thought that if this old world lasted this long that people would be driving through communities kicking off bales of marijuana from the backs of flat bed trucks---marijuana would have become commonplace
now i look around and i see the devastation of crack and crank---indeed those two are evil----no doubt---no love----total desolation of the spirit

No. Especially not if you're a Rastafarian!
But nothing is evil in itself anyway. Some people may think that the effects of marijuana can be 'evil' due to addiction, and the possible brain damage/lung cancer. But I'd say the plant itself has no agenda, so no. And because I, personally, have tried it, and it isn't for me, but it DOES cause some people to feel connected to everything and to love people around them. I'd rather someone got stoned and was more loving than was always sober and nasty.

Isaiah Chapter 45 verse 7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Just because God created something, does not mean we should use our free will to use it. Especially when it is as harmful as marijuana, which is a highly adddictive mind-altering drug that can and has caused death.

When God created everything it was not God's intention to make any thing evil or bad. It is our thinking and mis-use which make that evil or bad. Do you know opium is used in medicine but what if you use as a drug? By snake bite you could die but it's poison also cure you.
I hope this will give you a hint.

I cannot see how because IF in fact he is the maker of all beings, then he also made marijuana and must have some sort of purpose for use. So, how could he be against something he made? I'm sure he doesn't.

The plant itself is not evil. The medicinal properties of the plant can be used to treat depression and low blood pressure. [Although, it might take a lot of processing to extract it from undesirable agents.]
It is like any tool that mankind uses. It has a potential to be misused or overused.

Um, if you're religious don't you believe he created the stuff? I mean, he told us not to eat apples, right? He didn't tell us "thou shalt lay off the chronic." Of course, he did put it in the New World, so obviously we had to invent things like sailing and astronomy before we could have "rewards" such as tobacco, corn, tomatoes, and hemp. If figure it was his way of telling Christians, "good job, guys!"

NO, that thing is a slave to God, everything worships God. God created that "thing" to test us to see who's will say no to marijuana and who will unfortunately say yes.

You are not to take anything unlcleaned into your body. Any kind of smoke is unclean. Anything that causes harm to your body and destroyes brain cells is uncleaned.
Defination of unclean-
A primitive root; to be foul, especially in a ceremonial or moral sense (contaminated): - defile (self), pollute (self), be (make, make self, pronounce) unclean, X utterly.
