Some people believe in Angels, but say Fairies are false, others believe in God(s) but say Aliens are false, other people say everything non-existent (meaning they lack physical existence that can be tested) are false?

Why do you ‘choose’ to believe in some non-existent things, but other non-existent things you reject?

I investigate them. I believe in a wide range such things---spirits, ghosts, demons, elves, lephrachauns, faeries, pixies, dragons, sasquatches, aliens, non-organic beings, etc. I have investigated all of these thinsg and experienced them with my own senses.
However, for many people it wishful thinking. For example many people come to find these creatures through a fantasy that they exist--because they want them to exist. Howver cultural pressures also play a part in it. Many people believe in god just because their parents did and everyone else they know does.

I reject all pseudo-scientific phenomena, and by this I include ghosts, angels, healing bracelets, astrology and Gods.

Why?

Because the leap of faith needed to believe in them is too great. Most of them have no evidence, and the ones that do have evidence is usually impossible to prove, verify or replicate.

Someone tells me they've seen a ghost. To my mind, it's more likely they were mistaken or they were hallucinating because if they really did witness a ghost you have to explain what they saw.

In order to see something, our eyes must detect light. So, when you see an apple, you're seeing the effects of the light rays coming from a source (the sun, a lightbulb), hitting the apple and reflecting back. The reason an apple is the colours it is is because certain parts of the apple absorb more light than others (see colour theory on wikipedia)

So, to explain a ghost that walks through a wall we must work out how come we can see the ghost in the first place. What light source is hitting the ghost? Is it the light source from the time the ghost was a living human, or is it whatever lightsource is around today? If a modern lightsource can highlight the ghost then we must assume the ghost is solid, therefore how can it walk through walls?

You can analyse the other claims in this way. Astrology is junk, certainly not a science, but that doesn't seem to diminish its popularity. I guess lazy thinkers believe what they would like to be true, rather than what is true.

It is called faith. What is it that you have faith in? I believe in Angles because I have felt them. A for fairies I don't know, Maybe fairies are just a child's why of says angels cause most people will believe in fairies then angels. This is what I know there was a man named Jesus Christ. The term BC proves it. The next is do you believe in God and the Bible. Some people have just be brought up that it is fine to believe in some non-existent things and not others. Talk about Christ has been around for a long time and some of the non-existent things haven't been.

A belief in something, doesn't aways have a material nature or a religious concept.

To love or trust something/someone can be felt in your heart without the proof of existence.

To choose to believe or not believe in something today, doesn't mean that will be the case forever. Something or someone may come into your life and touch it in a way that changes your belief.

Whether it be fairies, faith or angels. Keep an open mind or you may miss the touch!

I only believe in that which I can see myself. If it's not proven by scientific facts, then as far as I'm concerned it does not exist. Why? Who knows? It's just the way I am. I don't believe in gods, I don't believe in angels, or ghosts, or fairies, and I most definitely do not believe in aliens. If they are here on earth with me, then I'll believe it when one speaks to me face-to-face and not one moment beforehand.

Occums razor (is that what its called?) the belief (and it is only a belief that the simplest most logical explanation tends to be the correct one....so aliens, gods and strange things that go bump tend not to exist for me....the problem is...Is M theory (the theory of theories) and the Bible are evenly complex hence the dilema of the western civilisation.....god vs the crusible?

You have to follow your heart...trust what you believe in and the rest will come naturally.

I've followed a few different religions and finally found one that fits in with what I believe. It's just a case of finding what s right for YOU...don't let yourself be influenced by other people unless you really feel that it is right.

Once you start to believe something you will come across more and more reasons to believe!

Enjoy you're journey!! :-)

I believe in a non-existent custard pie that orbits Saturn.

What non-existent objects do you choose to believe in?

By the way, the custard pie is invisible, so don't go looking for it with your telescopes.

Salam!
As a Muslim, i do not need to believe in superstitions. All the proof of what i believe in is from the Qur'an and the Sunnah (precepts of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him).
