You can to to the gym almost every day, but never 7 days a week. The maximum even professional athletes are recommended to train is 6 days a week. Your hormonal and cellular systems need to be rested, which is why many bodybuilders train 2 days on, one day off, etc. And if you do train regularly, do not do the same type of workout 2 days in a row. Use variety. I suggest a maximum of 5 days a week training for the average healthy person, using variety in sessions. Look at it this way, if you have limited training sessions you look forward to them more and will train with more intensity. There is a quality as well as a quantity approach to exercise.

i have same prob. went on holiday and had to find a hotel with gym - got there and gym was out of action so had to find out to use as guest member... i dont think there's anything wrong with it. but dont beat yourself up if u dont go - try and find something else u really want to do and do that instead of gym one night, that way u wont feel so bad about not going. and the way i see it is that there are a lot worse things u could be addicted to.

Yes its ok, but you may want to vary nights. On some nights cardio and on some nights weights.

Never use the same weight machines two days running, you need to make sure that you rest your muscles.

It may be healthier to have a day off every now and then also. But enjoy, gym is great for making people feel good.

It's fine. There are worse addictions. You could be drinking or smoking pot every day.

Look at Thomas Jane. For his role in "The Punisher" he did the gym TWICE a day for six months. And DAMN, he's hot now.

Your body responds best to the "stress then rest" system. You work your body the first day then rest it on the 2nd. This way you become stronger as the muscles have time to repair themselves before moving on to the next level.

exercising too much is just as bad as not exercising enough.

It depends on what type of workouts you're doing when you're there. If its just cardio, go everyday twice a day, if you're lifting weights attempting to build muscle you need to give your body a recovery time period to allow the hypertrophy of your muscle to heal. In any event, just use your head, you know what you can and can't do.

i am an instructor and it is ok to go each day altho it depends on how rigorous you plan on training...we are ment to do 20 minutes a day.....this can be walking, bike, running, and it also depends on how used to training you are....never go straight in to doing alot as your body wont be able to cope and your end up taking days of to recover and then have to start again...its best to do 2 days then 1 day off...and it depends on your diet.. ask at your local gym for a fitness test and for them to give you advice on diet and training.

That's possible. Your body releases chemicals called endorphins when you exercise. These are chemically similar to morphine, I'm told. To me, if you're going to have an addiction, exercise is a good one to have.
