Have you also tried feeding her baby food in the jar? There are many varieties to choose from. If your baby is very thin then there could be a problem. I would switch to another peditrician to be on the safe side and plus you want a doctor you feel comfortable with. Best of luck to you and the little one.

Her thinness may be genetic. It sounds like she's definitely getting adequate nutrition. Does she seem hungry? If her growth is staying consistently in the same percentile (as long as it's above the 10th percentile), it is normal. That amount of formula is normal for a baby her age that is eating cereal. Maybe try adding an extra couple ounces of formula to her bottle over the course of the day, not to each bottle.

Start with jar food like carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, peaches, pears anything for beginner or 6 months of age! They say you are to start with veggies first but thats a crock, I gave my lil girl fruit first and shes not fussy! Whenever I cook potatoes for dinner I give her some of those too and shes only 4 1/2 months so dont be too scared to give here these things...Shes well at the age now that shes going to want what you are eating!! Say she likes peaches and pears.....Try one for 1 week and the other a different week....you can get cereal combined with there fruits or even get them in a jar together :) hope this helps

At six months the baby should be moving onto proper solid food. Get one of those hand held blenders and make your own baby food. Favourites are:
carrots
bananas
butternut squash
mashed potatoes
rice pudding
avocado
custard
porridge
also in a little while just blend up what you are eating and mix in a little gravy to get them used to what the family is eating.

I agree with the majority of the answers below. your child should be eating pretty much the same as you now. Just buy a hand blender to make it easier for her to eat. Mash potato is good mixed with vegetables or try mashed bananas etc. Please don't give your child gravy. Alot of people do this but it is full of salt and can be harmful to your baby, my midwife told me this.

I don't believe in eating solids at such an early age! Are you still breastfeeding? I don't think "we" are meant to eat solids until we have some teeth to chew the food! Grinding it up doesn't change the fact that it's food and it needs to be digested...perhaps "our" body isn't able to digest complex things so early on, and maybe it's all just passing through her.

if you're still worried you can ask to see a different doctor. it maybe nothing but you do sound worried so get her checked and ask to see a dietician who could give you ideas on good meals for her.

Avocados are very healthy and have lots of good fats to help her grow.
