im 20 n i got quite a lot of them.. first one was at 15 or 16. its not nothing to do with drinking or smokin, i do both, but ppl who dont also have this problem so we can single out that. i've seen many doctors who couldnt healp. the only chance is a daily intake of vitaminE capsules, but ask ur doctor first ok?
i have come to the conclusion that its genetic. my dad had the problem at my age n now at 50 his completely grey. im sorry that this answer is not very optimistic but hey, its the truth.
if Vitamin E dont help you the only alternative is to dye ur hair. but i dont see the logic of dying it unless ur REALLY concerned bout ur looks in a big way! dats just a personal thought there.
hope it works out for you..

Gray hair is in no way associated to old age. You can get them anytime. Is why the term "salt and pepper" to refer to hair color was invented. I have a few strands myself. What did I do? Bleach some highlights on my hair because I loved the effect. Don't feel bad about it, make it stylish ;)

Don't worry about it. I am 17 also and have a friend with a single silver hair, we joke about it because she is to afriad to pull it out. Many teens get one stay hair, why? who knows. My brother had one at twenty. I'd just pluck it and move on. It is not a sign of anything going wrong medically. Good Luck.

sorry. not a way to overcome it...other than dyeing your hair. i had a few at the age of 17-18 and now i have slightly more at the age of 24. i just get a hair dye around the same color of my natural hair and color over all of hair. its not hurting it since im not using bleach or harmful chems. plus it gives more shine and healthy look. not sure why i had it, my parents were the same way as urs...they were in their 50s and just starting to notice their own gray hairs.

Well, going grey is better than going bald...
One of my friends started going grey at 14, but he's still mainly dark-haired at 32; another only started at 27 but he's almost completely grey at 35. No reliable way of telling where it's going to go, or how quickly.

Pull the gray hair out. If you start to notice more gray hair, then you`ll have to dye it.
