Because of the number of issues surronding the religion. The fact the Muhammad recieved his revelations from the Angel Gabrielle after each revelation he was so afraid that he went to a mountain several times to commit suicide. This goes agains scripture because in the OT everytime an Angel would speak one of the first things they would say is fear not. Plus Muhammad married a 7 year old girl and consummated the relationship when she was 9. Muslims believe that Ishmael was the child of promise and the child of sacrifice and not Issac which is not true. The is no authentic text from antiquity that supports this claim. How do you reconcile a sexual relationship with a grown man and a nine year old girl. In this day and time he would have been locked up.

Because Muhammad contradicted all the other prophets that came before him.
Muslims accept that Jesus existed, even that he was a prophet but they deny that he died on the cross, rose again and that he is the son of God.
These facts are what Christianity is built upon though so believing in the Bible and also in the Quran at the same time is not an option. They can not both be true because they contradict each other.

Christians do not accept the prophet Mohammed because according to the Holy Bible galatians chap 1vrs 8-9 and revelations chapter 22 vrs 18 states clearly that no further guidance is needed other than the written word of God

simple. Jesus links in with Islam and so does our own Prophet (saw). however theres no mention of Muhammad (sallalaho waalahi wasalim) in Christianity. It all comes down to respecting each others beliefs i guess.

The simple answer to that, is that Muslims do not accept Jesus. They are under the delusion that He was a prophet, when in fact Jesus was the Son of God!? Anybody who thinks of Jesus as anything other than Son of God, does not accept Him at all!!!
And we do not accept Muhammed, because he was NOT a prophet of God.

Muslims do not accept Christ. Muhammad accepted the idea of Christ at least his name the same as the name Abraham but never knew them. It is the reason the Qur'an Say's that the Torah and Bible and gospels are holy. They are called corrupt because they disagree with the Qur'an. Muhammad was confused about what thee taught and he wrote to be in agreement with them but he didn't understand them so he made a Quran that thought it was in agreement and actually went against the teachings of God. If you dare to read the word of God you will find this is true. will learn from God if you seek him with all of your heart that Jesus was much more than a man but our salvation. Jesus was God with us and he was prophesied to come and he died on the cross to atone for sin of all who accept

Why do Muslims accept many prophets up to Muhammad and then he is the final one, the door to God is slammed shut?

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on some things. Peace.

Muhammed taught that Jesus was a prophet but not that he was the Son of God. That attacks the entire foundation of the Christian beliefs, so how can we accept him?

Because such is a statement of faith, a basic assumption, and as such it will remain controversial till the end of the days. The same must be said regarding our Christian tenets. I cannot expect you to accept my faith just because it looks sensible to me. It is not to you. What I have to accept is that you and I are different and yet can and should support each other.
