agnostic and atheism are not the same agnostic basically means hedge sitting ***** who will follow whom ever they think is winning the argument at the time an agnostic will not forge any opinion of his own. an agnostic will say i don't beleive in God but what if we're wrong there maybe a god they maybe right we maybe wrong. There is one person worse than a religious person and that is somebody agnostic

I'm sorry christy for chosing my own words i obviosly chose them unwisely I do know there are agnostic fence sittters who beleive in a Personal God and many who are just the other way but not theists or atheists but there is a large proportion of fence sitters who do not know or do not have an opinion they wish to share or voice but will sit and listen to other peoples arguments these people should read RICHARD DAWKNS' "God Delusion" it will probably if you are lucky push you over the edge from agnosticism to atheism but if you are too scared then do what you have to do. All I meant to point out before is that agnostic is not the same as atheist although they can blend at a certain point.

Howdy!
(I'm a southern girl...gotta represent...)
Isn't it funny how all of us have thumbs down signs because we are Atheists?
Yet, we are the ones who are prejudice against religious folk.
THAT'S PATHETIC!!!!!

Well well...aren't you the ignorant one. Clearly you do not understand what it means to be Agnostic. It must be dificult for you to comprehend since not all Agnostics believe in the same thing which somehow leads you to believe that none of them know what they believe. I guess things are easier for you to understand when they are simple and black and white. For example Atheists do not believe in God and Christians believe in God. Those are the kinds of things you understand because it is cut and dry. However all Agnostics have different beliefs. It is a common misconception among ignorant people - thinking that Agnostics don't know what they believe that is. I personally have never once worried or wondered that maybe there is a God or 'what if I am wrong'. I am strong on my convictions.
I am Agnostic and would never agree with whoever is winning an argument. I would never agree with a Christian because my beliefs are polar opposites to those of a Christian. I am very strong in my beliefs.
Incase you are unaware (which obviously you are) the definition of Agnostic is a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study and/or a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience. Many Agnostics believe there is no God but even if there were, we as humans would not be able to comprehend its existance. Others believe that there is a higher power but that we are not able to comprehend its existance.
Hopefully you can see the difference between an Agnostic and an individual who does not know what they believe but if not, your ignorance is beyond my control.

It's about time we stood up and got counted, just because the major religions have lots of members they have a say. In the house of Lords there are spiritual advisors from all faiths, who is representing my beliefs??? Nobody, I'm sure if we joined together there'd be a hell of a lot more of us than people think, why shouldn't we wrestle the power from the racist, sexist and homophobic groups that are the major religions in this country.

Hi.
I'm completely with you re: agnostics. Theists like agnostics because they don't feel completely challenged about what they think (I see a lot of theists saying things like "I can respect agnostics because at least they don't pretend they know for sure" - as if theists don't!).

I'm not sure whether I'm an atheist or agnostic. You see, the Bible is full of tales about fish, and I know that I believe in Cod.
ps, Hi!

Hello. I'm a commited atheist and am 100% anti-clerical and anti-institutionalised religion. Reason and logic not belief in deities are all that humanity requires to thrive and develop to its full potential and I welcome the inevitable destruction of all religious bodies.
