When so many people arrive in so short a space of time, there are going to be problems; especially since most know only of London when they set out from their homeland.

The central and eastern europeans are generally splendid folk, who work hard and fit in well.

The question we should be asking is why these countries cannot attract investment and provide employment for their own people, when jobs and manufacturing are going to China and India.

Much of the problem of european unemployment is a direct result of short-term greed on the part of capitalists, and when all the investment has gone to China and other far-flung places, and the home economies are shattered by it, the capitalists will have achieved a type of socialism which only the communists could have come up with as a political philosophy.

The sooner the globalisation enthusiasts grasp the nettle, the better, because the capitalists could well drive europe towards self-destruction and civil-war.

It is scandalous that so many are forced to move, simply to feed themselves and have a decent life.

With that in mind, perhaps we should treat our close cousins from europe as we would treat our own, because they ARE good people and they deserve much better. Using them as political hot-potatoes and scapegoats is in no-one's interests, and simply diverts us from the REAL problems of a lack of proper economic policy and bad global business practice.

Communism is dead......long live slavery!

Seems that immigrants to the UK are in a Catch 22 situation. According to the BNP and other racists they are coming over here taking our council houses and now it would seem that they are accused taking up places in homeless hostels. Whatever the ethnic origins of the homeless it is a scandal that in the 21st Century, in the 7th richest nation on the planet, there are any homeless people.

I really don't understand your supplementary question about British people (presumably homeless) being too lazy to take places. Try volunteering to help at your local Night Shelter and find out for yourself what the situation of the homeless in the UK is really like.

Doesn't surprise me.

British families are being dunmped in B&Bs because there aren't enough council houses to go round.

I've even heard that hostel places are thin on the ground these days.

"Nice" to know that people who come here from another country are having to apply as homeless and further complicating the issue. These people should not be allowed to come here unless they can support themselves. Why don't they go home and be a drain on their own government's resources?

yea so what ? are you homeless ? did some poor romanian who travelled 4 days under a lorry take the last place at the homeless hostel you were planning to stay at ? One of the main reasons of homelessness is due to people being lazy, leave the frikkin eastern europeans alone, as much as you like to distance yourself, all europeans are related, for god's sake the royal family are german, they changed their name to winsor before the war

What a sore point. In the USA, our homeless are folks are mentally-challenged, or they are war veterans who have not fully recovered, or families who have lost jobs to illegals and are living in their cars (if they are so lucky).

I could be more compassionate except for the extreme violence (unreported by the mass media) they commit.

Perhaps you, like we...should send deportation buses to the shelters and give these fine people a free ride home.

Apparently the world believes England and the USA have unlimited monies to support them. Wonder what they are doing with all their oil money that their people must illegally migrate? This is true for the middle east as well as mexico.

Gee why not put a fence up around GB..lol there is alot of foreigners there and the English seem to cater to them. Why I don't know..unless it's because they take the meanial jobs that the brits won't take. What is unemplyment rate in the 18 to 28 yrs old bracket in the UK I suspect it is over 20% and 8% overall(entire country). with 650 people per square mile and females having the lowest unemployment in the UK there seems to be a problem there what do you think? No wonder there is alot of homeless people..Hey Brits whats the answer? Protest against the USA, Start grunge stores, tattoo parlor, skin head clothing, maybe piercing store, or maybe hair coloring and spiking..everyone can't play darts not enough room in most of the pubs. same with snooker. Seems like the Gov't of the UK needs to address this problem..Duh! do ya think?

If those jap Europeans are coming to the united kingdom & being racists to Black & Asian British human beings they might desire to be shipped back to the place they arrive from. i comprehend that sounds racist yet i'm no longer having no foreigner coming to the united kingdom & telling me too pass back to Africa lol (i'm mixed race) & have not have been given any 21 or 20 century kin in Africa (a million/2 Jamaican). The Tories are racist as they like to limite the quantity of "non" ecu workers into the united kingdom yet are allowing the extreme variety of ecu workers to proceed to be in this us of a & to permit greater in. I stay in mid wales & there's a city up north that are packed with them & in Hereford they even have their very own shops & around 4 years in the past there have been extremely any. The BNP will never get power!!! and in the event that they did then kiss see you later to the British financial gadget. Nick griffin suggested that he would PAY human beings from ethnic communities to pass back to their us of a of commencing place (in spite of if born in the united kingdom), i think of the a number of money he became quoted of giving became around £30,000 to each individual lol.
