Not all religious people are morons. In fact, some are quite respectful and accept my non-beliefs.
Others like to generalize and throw all Atheists in a room and throw away the key. They are ignorant to any ideals beyond their own, and they show their ignorance by asking hateful, stupid questions.
I can't say that some Atheists aren't the same way, but this question isn't about Atheists.

I have never called an atheist or an agnostic morons so why is it necessary to name call here? Believe what you want and let me do the same without hatred or remorse. We live in a free society where we are all able to believe or not in whatever we want to. Let's live together in peace and stop the childish name calling. What purpose does it serve?

No; simply people who (typically) have grown up in some faith and find it comforting, without having taken the time or trouble to do a detailed analysis to see if overall the notion makes sense. Such an analysis is not a trivial task.
