If you have fleas everywhere, I am afraid there will be no quick fix. Here are a few steps to take to help rid your kitty & your home of fleas.

First, treat the cat. I would use either frontline or advantage, but I know both are pricey. However, they have a moneyback guarentee & you'd just spend more $$ buying the cheaper products over & over again.

Second, treat all of kitties sleeping places. Wash all cat furniture & beds & then spray them down with a flea spray to prevent re-infestation.

Third, treat the rest of your home. Try the same flea spray you used on the cat furniture. One trick I learned is to put a little flea powder inside of the vaccuum cleaner. Fleas actually live after being sucked up inside of one & just crawl back out. If there is flea powder in the vaccuum bag, it kills them when they get caught up there.

Good luck to you!

I had taken in a cat from outside that was pregnant she had fleas we didnt realize it was a serious problem until after she had the kittens because you could see them all over the kittens after they were big enough to hold etc. First off wash the cat with ivory dishsoap that will kill the fleas on the cat and then get the cat a flea collar. Your vet should sell some kind of a house spray or tell you where to get it. You have to remove the cat from whatever room you are spraying but you need to vacuum the whole house and spray everywhere. I did this room by room moving what I could and vacuuming and then spraying all over the room. Also make sure you get rid of the vacuum bag or empty the canister and IMMEDIATLY take the trash bag outside if you dont do this it is possible for them to jump out. It took some time Id say a few hours but we havent seen fleas since. (knock on wood lol)

Good Luck

It's "flea season". Every Spring/Summer the earth sprouts a whole new crop of insects of all kinds. Living in the "Great Northwest" makes this abundantly clear as we have a seasonal bug invasion which starts in April/May and lasts until October/November. Fleas were the biggest problem for Lewis and Clark...they moved camps dozens of times and burned pretty much everything trying to get rid of them. Their journals are page after page of complaints about the rain and the fleas...LOL. Did you know that "oil" is really dead bugs and plants? Can you imagine how many bugs there were then? Anyway we just have to put up with the bugs they are part of life on earth....AND it's a real good thing you can't see the microscopic stuff cause then you would turn into Howard Hughes.

Apply Frontline Plus to your cat...they do sell it at some pet stores, as well as at vet offices and online. In a few days, all fleas will be gone from the house. It also will take care of any flea larvae and flea eggs. No need to go broke buying all kinds of bombs and sprays. I have personal experience that Frontline works better than Advantage. Don't forget to vacuum thoroughly - not just a quick pass through high traffic areas, and get rid of the bag or empty the receptable in a sealed garbage bag.

There is no easy way to get rid of fleas. You must treat carpet, furniture, bedding, and the outside area as well if the cat goes outside.I have always used Sevin. It comes in granules, dust, and spray. You have to vacuum daily and throw out the bag or the fleas will get out of the bag!! It may take several weeks before you see NO fleas.Since you have a cat,I recommend having it dipped at the groomer or vet unless it is used to bathing.Good luck

i have never heard of a home made recipe. and anyway's you can't just get rid of them in one day. that stuff take's time's. it sound's like you have them pretty bad so what you should do is go to the vet and get some stuff for flea's the vet's stuff it kinda expenisve but it work's better then what is in the store's. but as i am thinking i think they have this stuff in the store i don't know what it is called. but it's powder. you can try to put some one the cat and on the carpet. it will may help a little bit. but it won't get rid of all of them. you need to go the vet.

I found that the best way to get rid of fleas was to buy the stuff from the vet.(store bought stuff doesnt work) after about 2-3 weeks all the fleas will disappear. Then keep using it as directed each month to keep them away.

um ive never heard of a homemade recipe. especially if the fleas are all inside ur house too. you need to go to the vet and get the meds u put on their fur/skin that kills the fleas instantly. next, go to walmart (or store like it) and get bug bombs (they make some that are specifically for fleas) and set those off in ur house. u must remove pets, plants and other sensitive things when setting these off. also, air out ur house afterward so that no chemicals are left to make u or the pets sick

To get the fleas off your cat (or dog) you can bath him in J&J baby shampoo. Try and leave the shampoo on for 5 min before you wash off. But you will still have the problem in the house.
