We would be better off, they would be worse off... Basically civil war for them, less caos for us.

The elected government would fall. Iraq would collapse in chaos as a mass genocidal civil war would break out. Anyone that showed the slightest affiliation with the elected government or the US would be beheaded in the streets. When things calmed down. You will have the largest terrorist base in the world. Terrorist all over would now believe that Americans have no stomach for war and be emboldened to step up the ultimate goal of destroying or converting the Western world. Europe will acquiesce rapidly as homicide bombers spread terror. African despots will side with the terrorists. Israel will be nuked by the Hezbollah with Iranian provided nuclear weapons. Once Africa, the Middle East and Europe are subjugated, attention will turn to the west. England will be destroyed. Australia will be devastated by biological weapons (provided by the late Saddam Hussein and Syria). Russia, China and the US will join in an coalition of freedom and counterattack making Dresden look like a campfire. The Democratic Party will be outlawed. The world will be dominated by a Triad of the leadership of these three countries. Eventually Russia and the US will join forces and eliminate the Chinese Government. A 'CEO' of sorts will be chosen to rule the planet.

Or nothing at all.

The social and economic infrastructure would crumble; the tribal sects would launch an all out assault on each other looking for power; the insurgents would assume governmental control, therefore bringing back into power the the type of fanatical, tyrant regime that was ousted. And most importantly, the lives of the soldiers who selfishly fought and died trying to give these animals some kind of peace and stability would be cheapened by a cut-and-run policy.
I'm no fan of Bush and his worldly cronies like Blair, but an ex-soldier who loves his country, not his government.

The current government is not strong enough to fight against all their enemies. If we left they would be taken over, all the oil would be confiscated and the next thing you know the US would be up crap creek. Not only from an oil shortage, because we would never buy from them, but with the oil funds, (because you know someone will buy!) they will purchase better weapons, (for a price anyone will sell!) and we would probably see WWIII. Osama, who is still a very real threat, has not been captured or killed and he is no dummy. Life would soon be more than just planes being used as weapons. I HATE that we are now in this predicament, we could have avoided it had things been handled differently.

USA after sadam hussein, would had only supported iraki people letting them make things according with their uses, and by themselves, trying to keep peace and good relationship with the other countries.
But what USA made, was trying to solve the problems as if irakis were american. No one country neither east nor west, likes to be treated as a "visit" in their own country.
USA didnt know how to do the things. and Bush is being hated for them...
and,,,,,do you want the truth...he deserve to be hated because of his haughtiness. He thinks that is the owner of the world, and that USA is the saver, and is not that way that one can get the sympathy of the countries and their people. Why terrorism is against USA and no another great countries as Germany.Japan, even Canada???......Why is only USA the hated country? Think about that, and may be you'll get an answer to your question. There is a popular proverb that says.."live......and let other people live"

There is NO question but what Iran would gobble it up and the terrorists would use Iraq and its oil reserves to foster horrific terrorist regime that could strike anyplace in the world and the people there would be subjected to horrible misery because all money from the oil would be used in terrorist activities around the world

Iraq would be invaded and partitioned by Iran, Turkey and Syria.

A reign of terror would begin that would make Darfur look like a mild disagreement. Anybody who did not submit to Al Queda would be murdered.

The US military would feel betrayed.

Iran would control about half the world's oil supply, and about a million Iraqis who trusted us and tried to make their nation a democratic republic would be tortured and murdered by fundamentalist jihadis who seized power.
America would then be considered a bunch of cowardly unreliable backstabbers who would never be respected or trusted again by anyone in any foreign country. With regard to the war on terror we will be out of the frying pan and into the fire!

If our troops were to just leave Iraq, the insurgents, AL Qaeda, Taliban, etc. would just regroup, and then we'd have to fight them over here in our own streets.
