As long as you take all the proper steps in cooling whatever food it is. you have to make sure that your food is cool enough to refrigerate in at least 4 hours (there are particular guidelines that i wont go into but cool it quicker than that) so that the growth of bacteria isnt in the "danger zone" and growing exponentially. other than that, be creative, and make sure all foods are reheated properly. if you have leftover steamed vegetables make a stirfry. or like what someone before me said with chicken make chicken salad. There are a number of things you can do with leftovers. and keeping time for leftovers in the fridge i would only go for 3-4 days. After that they get funky. :)

rubbish.
as a former chef there have been many problems with giving away food. one case a pizza was given to a homeless man.
He got food poisoning as the pizza was a few hours old and re heated.
He then sued the company as he had the pizza box with the company logo on it.
Just get rid of it!

EAT THEM
You can put them in freezer containers and pull them out for something to eat at a later date.. but don't forget to store them in the freezer.. will make a quick meal some day.

store in plastic freezer bags for another day. It seems like leftovers the following day, no one wants, but when I freeze them and thaw for a side dish, no one seems to mind and enjoys the tastes again.

If its vegetables, fry them all up together the next day.

Otherwise do as the person before me said and put everything in tupperware in the fridge and use as soon as possible.
