I rail against the catholic church for their atrocities, as well as muslim extremists, as do you atHeists.
However, I never hear one atheist rail against the evolutionist atheists who murdered MILLIONS of people just this century.

You know, Stalin, Mao, Hitler (people say he was a catholic, I highly doubt it, he was in cahoots with the Pope maybe) - why do you never mention these evil men killing in the name of survival of the fittest?

LET THE THUMBS DOWN BEGIN!

There is no reason for thumbs down, that is a valid question.

If an atheist is arguing that atheism will necessarily make one a better person, then those would be good examples to show to contradict their argument.

But most atheists aren't really arguing that, though I suppose some do. I think what most atheists are arguing is that religion does not necessarily make you a better person, which is why they bring up the examples of religious extremists, the Inquisition, etc. Remember, a common charge against atheists is that without God they necessarily must not have any morals, and thereby by implication that morals come from religion alone. It is that which atheists are arguing against.

But there can be no question that many have killed in the names of all sorts of ideas, whether they be religious ones, or atheistic ones.

With Darwin came natural selection and shortly thereafter the survival of the fittest with British philosopher Herbert Spencer.

There is no question about the damage done by the conversion to social Darwinism; and even now religious Darwinism. History shows us its impact on British colonialism and human feelings of superiority.

To teach natural selection is to teach discrimination for that is the process. You mean? Social Darwinism supports racial discrimination and more? You bet I do.

From this point it is an easy move to Manifest Destiny and the Spanish and European desecration of the New World, to Adolph Hitler, to Stalin and a cast of lesser characters; not excluding the organized Christan religions.

Hitler was an occultist. His speeches were sermons which he many times closed with the word Amen. His standards before the armies were occult and Roman signs. The German church was spiritually dead and it took on another life form.

I think you have a valid point; for it seems that every problem that some see would be solved by the demise of Christianity. I see no difference in that spirit; than the one which holds everything would be better without the Jews.

You and I may not agree on many things; but I think you have an insight which extremists of any ilk love to ignore.

Since evolutionists cannot tell the difference between true and false Christians; could we argue that evolution is not true? For have they not show, by their very inability, that natural selection does not exist in their nature?

The huge flaw in you argument though is that atheists are there own people and do not do so in the name of...in the name of what, non belief, there isn't even an icon or single directive to place a name to? We do not follow ANY religious guide, we follow our own personal moral codes and do not live by a single collective aim.

Athiesm is not a 'group' it is just a lot of people who don't beleive. And we certainly do not advocate acting as one, because we know we are individuals.

Just like some catholics, jews, christians act on their own and cannot hide behind the church for their actions. But tell me about the crusades...?

Man, all I hear from you lunatics is 'bla bla bla bla'

You have it so ingrained in your head that YOU are the only right one, you'll come up with bogus, ridiculous claims against anyone else that thinks differently to you to make your own beliefs and self-esteem feel stronger. And what in heavens name makes you think, even if you're weird and completely unresearched assumptions are correct, that EVERY atheist in the world thinks the same as those people?

Never heard an Atheist say it? I AM AN ATHEIST AND I OPPOSE ALL FORMS OF MURDER FOR ALL REASONS AND ALL OUTCOMES.

P.S- Hitler was a devout Christian and yes, your christian friend killed a few million people because he was crazy. You should really read up before you make these bizarre accusations.

And by the way, Christians and other theists killing in the name of God and their beliefs have been around since humans believed in such things, despite religion being based on tolerance, respect and love. The amount of killing in god's name could not even compare with those that were considered 'atheist'...

I completely agree with your point (many people have been killed in the name of 'reason'), but I think their point may be that most religions preach to love all people, so war and murder shouldn't be committed in the name of religion or God.

"Over the past decade I have engaged in extensive dialogue with atheists. Over that time I have learned that as a group they are in no way intellectually superior to believers in God. In fact they continually do the very things they accuse Christians of. They engage in demagoguery, they use ad hominem arguments and other forms of personal attack, and they practice "selective perception," in only seeing those aspects of theology and religious history they feel are useful in discrediting people of faith.

For example, they not only continually refer to the issue of Galileo and the Catholic Church, they also grossly exaggerate the conflict and ignore the many complexities involved. They point to the crusades as examples of "Christian" butchery while ignoring the atrocities committed during the French Revolution and in communist nations in the name of Reason."

Those examples are all from last century, not this century.
And I can not honestly believe you've never heard an atheist condemn those murders. But if you haven't, here it is:
I, an atheist, am strongly opposed to genocide in all its forms, and to the execution of dissidents. Happy now?

I'd also like to know why you doubt Hitler was Catholic. Surely you have some evidence other than his unpopularity, yes?

Any dogma, belief or theory can be misused by sick, power hungry people.

It is limited to neither atheists nor people of faith.
