Do you believe, as the Vatican asserts in a statement from within its walled city, that building a fence on the U.S. border with Mexico is "inhuman"?

I believe the Vatican should pressure the Mexican government to do more to raise the living standard of the Mexican people.

Well, the wall around the Vatican -- if it can be called a wall -- isn't there to keep anyone out. It's more of a dividing line than anything else.

Having said that, I don't agree with the Vatican that a US-Mexico border fence would be "inhuman."

What would be inhuman would be to do nothing about the illegal immigration problem. Lots of people die out there trying to go from Mexico to the US illegally.

By preventing this with a fence, the US would be very much acting in a humane manner. It would actually be saving lives.

You are getting allot of good answers and as for me I don't give anything coming from this so called vatican any credence at all or anything else the catholic religion puts out ,,,, If you'll read into it ,,,, the catholic church maintained a place refered to as the sanctuary ,,,, This was the place where they catered to the Nazi war criminals ,,,,German officers went to this facility to lay low while waiting to be transported to other countries to escape or avoid facing their due punishment ,,,,It was a safe house in other words ,,,,, This isn't a story ,,,, It's a FACT ,,,, and the catholics were behind it ,,,,There have been allot of things throughout history the catholics have been behind that they don't want people to know about ,,,, like their secretly backing the confederate troops during the civil war ,,,, The catholic religion basically opposes anything that is good for the masses ,,,,, It's their policy to keep the masses poor and ignorant so that these people donate their hard earned money to their church ,,,, America has always been a throne in the side of the catholic church ,,,, What America stands for has always been counter productive to their agenda ,,,,, so they see this mass migration to the US as beneficial to their cause ,,,, I look at the catholic religion today and see nothing but amoral perverts ,,,, Don't agree ? Then read your head lines now and then,,,, The catholic religion could be compared to the organization they refer to as the Nights Templar ,,,,, And who do they think they are that they are the ones to deside who is holey or not ,,,, they are men just like anyone else on this planet ,,,,, Including this man they call the pope ,,,, It's an elected position and he was elected holy by these men not God ,,,, So who the hell is he other than just another man ,,,,, ? This vatican thing or what ever it is ,,,, is in Rome I think ,,,, or somewhere ,,,,, It's certainly not here in America so they don't have to put up with the scourge of these maggots invading our country ,,,, They need to keep their nose out of other peoples business ,,,, They think putting a fense up along the mexican border is wrong too but not because they think it's inhuman but because it would aid in helping keep their masses from mexico out ,,,, mexicans are predominately catholic so their being kept out of the United States would seriously interrupt their cash flow ,,,,, The United States needs to establish serious deterrants against these people infesting our country ,,,, America needs to worry about the American tax payer not this vatican thing what ever it is ,,,,,,

Then its inhuman for them to protect the Pope and all the treasures of the Catholic church with walls and guards..
The church is only trying to protect its cash flow, the Hispanic parishioner. The more money they make in the US the more money they give to the church..
First of all it is none of any other country(the Vatican is its own country isn't it) telling the US what it should or should not do on its own land. To protect its self from the constant onslaught of illegal aliens invading this country .the US has the right and obligation to secure its borders. Why didn't the Pope tell the illegal aliens that they need to stay in their own nations because its a criminal act, they are committing? Why didn't he address that as the problem? Why didn't the Pope scold then and tell them they are breaking the laws of this nation? Ask yourself that?

Its a fence so how can an open fence divert a river? Its not a wall ,its a fence.

Well, just try to go into the Vatican and commit a crime. They have their own government to include many cells located in the dungeon. Does this declaration sound a little like the ones coming from the hard, socialist or dictator nations?

Yep

Great question. Same question ask on Lou Dobbs tonight web site.
I'll answer you the same. The Vatican wants every illegal Mexican it can get here in America. Why? They are Catholic more money for the coffers of the church. After all they got all those multi million dollar law suits to pay for there child molesting priests.

No it is not inhuman bit it is not the answer to the illegal alien problem either. At best it is a waste of tax dollars as tunnels and other methods of getting around it will be built instantly. Lets try holding employers and people who house the illegals responsible and the problem will go away.

The pope would not have a problem, I assume, if two million people decided to sneak inside HIS WALLED CITY under cover of night and camp out permanently. To remove them would be inhuman, right?

Isn't the Vatican surrounded by a wall?

I don't think it's inhumane. But I do think it's a very stupid waste of our money. A fence will have no affect whatsoever. They don't intend to fence the whole border, just a fraction of it, so what's the point?
