They should of sent you a power supply. The foot pedal hooks into that.

If you are not a licensed tattoo artist or an apprentice you have no business buying any of this equipment. I cannot imagine you have ready access to an autoclave which would mean you will not be able to sterilize the pieces of equipment you need to reuse, such as tubes. Most equipment for the industry is mail order, anyway and will not work with you if you are not associated with a shop. There is no Tattoos R Us in Baltimore that will sell you equipment, especially not "cheap". Go ahead and go into a tattoo shop to ask them where to buy this stuff, they will laugh you out the door. Tattooing is dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. If you want to become a tattoo artist concentrate on drawing and building a portfolio, not tattooing yourself and your friends out of your garage. That is a good way to get sued or give someone Hepatitis, not to mention the crappy pieces everyone involved will end up with.

Oy...that's not a really good power supply :(

OK, here's what you have to do.
Your clip cord (the one that plugs into the machine) has two wires. Your foor pedal has two wires. One wire of each is connected to the terminals of the power supply (it's DC, but not polarity sensitive for a tattoo machine). The remaining wires are twisted together with a wire nut.

I have the DG-1 power supply...believe me, it's well worth the extra $50 by far.

use a foot pedal from a sewing machine.
Disconect the wires from the button and connect them to the pedal.
Its still a button just in the shape of a pedal!
