Um, i would like to go to school in the united kingdom for the rest of this school year. I live in the united states. I don't know how to get started. I'm in high school and would like to go to high school in the uk, near my boyfriend. does anybody know of anything i should be doing. i know i need a visa. but then isnt it a school visa thing. um can anybody clear this up? and is there a program i have to go through to do this?? I wouldnt exactly be an exchange student because i would be living with my mom in her own house. any answers please. thanks... so besides getting the visa and contacting the school getting my plane ticket. is there anything else i have to do. is there going to be an issue when i want to live and go school there???

going to school in england is simple the government isnt very strict when it comes to visa policies. the only issue i can think of is qualifications. as you know the school system is different. you can leave school at 16. If you decide not to you can do As levels (1st year this is called yr12) and then Alevels (2nd year-yr13). Now i don't know what year you are in so i can't help you on that. But if you are in your final year at H.school you will not be able to do your final year of alevels as you must do a year of AS level first. This means you will be a year behind. This will also apply if you want to apply for the equivilant of 'sophmore', year 11 is when gcses take place and like Alevels you have yr10 (previous year) to do all the work and coursework(these are like long projects). So it all depends on how old you are and which year you would wish to apply.
