Emergency Light has electrical energy storage device called battery, charger unit, lamp and switching circuit. When power is available it is used for charging Battery. When power goes OFF, supply from storage Battery to lamp is switched ON by switching circuit and lamp glows. When Power supply is restored, switching circuit disconnects supply from Battery to lamp. Switching circuit gets its initiation command from status of normal supply (absence or availability of normal supply)

Emergency Lights Of All Kinds have a Rechargable Battery which are charged by the direct current when not in use, so as soon as the power gets cutt off these lights turn on, if active.

Emergency light comes with battery backup. at power supply it charge the battery and when power goes there is a switch which turn light on using battery inside it. when power comes back switch again turn to charging of battery.
switch is consists of diode to understand this you should have electronics knowledge.

A battery box with a charger on it & some 12 volt lighting when power goes out they come on, & die out when the battery dies about 15 - 20 min.'s
