Round enough. Because the Earth spins, there is an equatorial bulge, which makes the the Earth a little bit egg shaped. You will have to wait a bit as it takes some time to stream images. For eg., if you want to see N.York, then type New York in the search box and wait for about a minute. After the streaming gets to 100%, scroll the mouse so as to have a nearer or farther view.

i had a similar problem with google earth and my internet connection was not functioning properly
when i rectified the problem with the internet connection google earth started to work
