i have the same problem as you i have really curly dry hair and what i been doing for the past 7 years was getting it chemically straightened i used Rusk 3 straightening solutioni t works great it makes your hair super straight, shiney and heathly but once you do it you have to wait 3 months before you use the solution again its like an anti-perm.... i also use a flat iron its called the maxi glide it really works also if you don't want to get your hair chemically straigntened the straightener includes a video on how to you use it and shows a bunch of normal people with curly hair making their hair straight. i hope this helps

i wont tell u to use a hair straightner, it will get damaged, unless u get it permanently straightened by relaxing it at the salon. this requires a touch up only six months later.
u cud try keeping ur curls but making them look better by using a serum for curly hair once ur hair is washed. this keeps out the frizz and makes it extremely shiny and defines ur curls.
or u could use a straightening cream on wet hair, set it in large rollers and let it dry. ur hair will be in huge curls, and the strands will be straight. and it wont get damaged. gd luk:)
