My poor grandfather died in korean war.

Fiftythousand American soldiers had been killed in battle.

They sacrifice themself for freedom and a friendly nation.

But now in korean peninsula..

North korea is preferentioal treatment

On the other hand

USA soldier treated with contempt.

They say "Yankee ,,GO, HOME"

I shed tears in my mortification.

How do you feel?

I was in the Army and spent more than one year in South Korea. None of the natives ever gave me a hard time about anything. The country was so poor that the US was the best source of income for the people.
We had a house boy who had walked all the way from North Korea, during the war, with his family, to escape Communism.
All of our mess halls employed Koreans. Our compound was guarded at night by Korean civilians.
Katusas...Korean soldiers were mixed into our Army, and were paid by the US.
I had a Korean girl friend. The monthly cost was $30.00+.
The American Red Cross and the USO had their employees living on our compound. They also hired Koreans.

Am I correct in assuming that you're in South Korea? I went there once ... had a good time, and met lots of nice people.

But there are some people there -- the ones who protest the US military presence -- who are a bunch of ingrates, to be honest.

They say the nastiness things about US soldiers, and sometimes even commit crimes against them and their families -- not realizing that without the US soldiers, they'd be bowing to statues of Kim Jong Il right now.

The only thing about the US pulling out of places like Korea is that if we do, just like Iraq, we will be opening up all kinds of doors for these third world countries to get their hands on all kinds of weapons and that unfortunately includes Nuclear weapons. If that happens, then sometime in the future we may be looking at a world war to stop it all and I don't think that is what any of us needs or wants. Our me died for a reason. They, just like your grandfather died to preserve our rights to freedom, and to be able to walk safely on our public streets and to eat what we want to. If we have another world war, then the world as you and I know it won't exist anymore. There will be sickness, famine, and death. Think about it.
