Mine aren't really babies anymore (2.5, 4) but we used to just get a few outfits and age appropriate toys when they were little, now it's cooler stuff like doll houses, scooters, and big wheels.

She's a lucky baby girl! I wish I had like those when I was a baby... lol. Well, I have a 1 yr. and 2 months old niece but I haven't thought what gifts I shall give yet. I'm still a student with student's budget so maybe I shall give her a cat stuff toy saw at a toy store since she loves cats. The stuff toy was really cute plus it's allergy-free. I couldn't afford it for her birthday so I hope I could buy it for her this christmas. Hope I can still find more of it there. Merry Christmas to you and your family in advance!

I'm getting my son, who just turned 2, a magnadoodle (it has some small parts, but he doesn't put things in his mouth) aquadoodle, mega blocks (big legos), a tricycle, and some oddball things that suit his personality. Last yr he got some of those learning blocks that have different things in them, various light-up noisy things, and cars with big tires.
There are a lot of neat things to get the little ones these days and the top rated site is kbtoys.com (by parents magazine, I think).
