I have a cousin who is male and 10 years old. He is the very energetic and playful type, and loves it when people tickle him. He is one of very few kids I know who actually like being tickled. Usaully when he comes over, or I go over, he gives hints to tickle him. Usaully its like him sitting next to me on the couch and putting his socked feet near me and saying things like "my feet are tired" or just starts getting his feet closer to me. I usaully just give him a quick tickle to have him pull away, but I don't know. It seems weird now, he is 10 and doesnt give up. One time I tickled his socked feet for a while hoping for him maybe to dislike it and quit with it already, but he laughed hysterically, thrashing his body everywhere, but he loved it. What do you think I should do? Does anyone else have a kid relative like this? Please let me know and give me your experiences with it. Thanks!

My niece and I have "tickle time" when we see each other, she loves being tickled and I enjoy giving her the attention she seems to need from this. While she's 7, I don't see anything wrong with tickling any child who enjoys it as long as they understand that when you're done, you're done. This is something we share between just us, and it's a fun thing to share. Enjoy giving your cousin the attention while he still wants it, he won't always.

at 10 yrs old----this boy still wants to be tickled---he is prepubecent and I would tread very softely because he could be getting his jollies by the very act that you think is so innocent.

I am speaking as an educated person that has fostered children and in many cases children who are tickled are or have been sexually abused. The abuser uses tickling to achieve submission from their victim.

I'm not trying to give the impression that this what is going on in your situation but please be careful.

Tickling is abuse----and don't incourage it!

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as he isn't asking to be tickled anywhere that is inappropriate. I don't know of anyone that loves to be tickled. Being tickled irritates me

Nothing wrong with tickling somebody as long as it doesn't turn sexual

He is a kid and obviously likes the attention. My opinion, give it to him. When you are done and had enough, just say, "ok, i'm going to talk to the adults now, we can play again later."
