If possible, you should renew your passport approximately nine (9) months before it expires. Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six (6) months beyond the dates of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.
France will be OK for you on your current passport according to Expedia (link below):
"Passports: Passport valid for three months beyond length of stay required by all, except:
1. nationals of EU countries, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland holding valid national ID cards."
As far as I read that you can travel in France till it expires, as you are a member of an EU country
Enjoy your weekend..
By the way the person who thinks a passport is valid for 3 months after it expires is in for a rude awakening if they ever try that out when they travel overseas.

Assuming that you have a UK passport, all that matters is that the passport is still valid when you enter and leave Greece. The "6 months" rule does NOT apply for travel within the European Union.

In the Eu it is fine, you do not need 6 months on your passport.
im going to Jamaica in January and my passport runs out in July. So i have to get a new replacement.
I think you need a passport with a magnetic strip now though.

Yes of course, how long do you plan to be there...a week or 2 at most?.
As long a your passport is valid and you tell them the length of your stay, you should be OK. But you are more than welcome to check with the consulate of those nations to get their opinion.

My passport was out of date, I didn't realise until too late and I was meant to be going to Greece. Couldn't go to Greece but went to Spain instead - you can use a passport 6months out of date to go to Spain so I'm sure you will have no problem going to France.
