Please, just Christians answer. Here is my question. A Christian friend of mine once said to me, "If you don't want Satan to know something, THINK it. Satan can't read your thoughts." My 1st reaction was, "That's not true. Of course he can." But the more I thought about it, the more I thought, this person might be right. It doesn't say in the bible either way, so we have to reason it out. And the thought that keeps coming to me is ....... if we say that Satan CAN read our minds and know our thoughts, then aren't we in fact giving him an attribute that should belong to God alone? Are we not making him out to be a god when there should only be one God. What are your thoughts on this?

The Bible speaks of Satan as" The God of This Sytem of Things", meaning he is the ruler of this wicked world , but only for a short time yet.The Scripture is 2Corinthians 4:4 and it says: "among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the mind of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news, about the Christ, who is the image og God, might not shine through."
Satan can not read your thoughts , but the way you live and act will tell Satan what is on your mind.Understand!!!
There is a saying that goes like this:"Tell me who your friends are and I will know who you are."
Only God can read our minds and our heart and only
He can know our true identity. That is why no one can ever seperate us from God , we can always reach him through prayer , even silently.

I too have heard that satan cannot read your mind so I started to pray in my mind to God. Then I heard that satan can put bad thoughts in ones mind. I am not sure how this works but I am going to ask at Bible study tomorrow evening. Good question.

One thing Satan cannot do is read your mind.... satan can influence the mind and through ones action, may get a clue as to how to further enhance that suggestion....
But, reading the mind is as someone near you trying to do the same thing.....
What is hidden within the body houses the spirit which decides what direction to take its decisions..... That is for God to judge...
If satan could know what was inside that "house".... then he would be like unto God... .and he is not......
Which is why the spirit is the mystery that is hidden... it will be the "open book" of a man's life that shall be judged as secret.....
Who else would know what to do with your thoughts....??

Well one thin you have to think about is that the devil is an angel still. Though stan was cast out of heaven he wasnt stripped of his powers. An angel with super natural powers which could include reading minds. Remember One angel alone took all of egypts first born, so dont put it past the devil to do such great things.

I agree. I've had personal experience with this since I became recommitted to Christ. I had to renounce witchcraft, out loud, and then I had to tell satan (I never capitalize his name, he doesn't deserve it) that he LOST.
Just thinking it didn't do any good. It had to be said out loud.
However, I do believe that satan can plant thoughts in a person's mind, even if he can't read them.

Satan is in your mind all the time with you, encouraging you to commit sins. You can shut him down by following the 10 commandments.

I have heard it said, don't speak what you don't want the Devil to know. He is a created being just like us. A lot more powerful but nevertheless he is restricted in his power and only God can see a mans thoughts and intent of his heart. Good Question.

I dont class myself Christian, but i had to say this.. SATAN doesnt exist.. Satan is a thought up idea to instill fear in the masses..
*and it seems to be working unfortunately.
Regardless I been baptised and confirmed and i respect that you follow your religion but I am just saying what i believe..
