I am going thru the same thing, and I also have bad depression, anxiety, fears etc. I know most of this is change of life, also as we age we tend to wonder where did all the yrs.go seems like yesterday we were so young! I went for some one on one counseling, and to a Dr. for help with the depression and anxiety, all of this has helped, but I still have my days, fear of death is one of my worst, seems I worry about it alot, and have lost best friends at my age and younger, that really hit me hard! If your anything like me u feel alone, but u r not, so many women r in this same situation! Also seems even light exercise a walk or anything u enjoy to keep active is a great mental uplift! And having someone to talk to, who really cares and listens, please see your Dr. get hormone blood wrk. also, remember this u r not alone I care! I hope some of this has helped, it even helped me to have a woman to talk too! I wish u the best, and remember we are going to be ok, the best is yet to come!!!!! I tell myself this as often as possible, it helps get me back on track, some days I also stumble words, feel like for some reason I know what I want to say but cant seem to express it well, I add that to the stress we have daily and we put alot of stress on ourselves, seems like I look around and all the women are younger than me, and the fears at times r crazy! I guess we women need to stick together, we really need each other, I hope u will let me know how u r!

i'm sometimes surprised how a lot of people think certain conditions come out of the blue and that nothing can be done. Even doctors are still puzzled with something like depression, in your case stumbling with words.

Not everything should be solved with a medicine and plenty of doctors are oblivious of certain vitamine supplements and how they can solve a simple disorder just as good. I do however support that you visit a doctor to at least have a professional opinion, plus you never know what he might find.

Of course a lot depends on your lifestyle, are you inside your house cocooning all day or are you rather active and outgoing.
It's well known that professional artist painters die at an early age for the motionless job they have, there are quite a few them who go through a depression.

Your body is made to be physically active for as long as your body allows it. Getting older often also means an increasingly stagnating lifestyle. We more and more indulge ourselves in the "comfort zone" and with bad nutritional habits you're prone to physical decay faster for the simple reason that the blood doesn't circulate into the finest arteries anymore. Without a good blood circulation an organ like the brain, which is full of the tinyest arteries, will not receive the oxygen and nutritional substances it needs to operate properly. This ofcourse will translate into certain disorders going from headaches to worse.

Depression and other "light" mental disorders are often caused by bad nutritional habits and an inactive lifestyle.

In essence your body needs:
- plenty of water (a slight dehydration already causes tiredness and a lack of concentration)
- enough vitamins/minerals, with enough water in your body these wil get easily spread throughout your body
- healthy food, but its ok to sin every now and then. There're however foods that destroy certain vitamins/minerals like pasta and white sugar.
- and last but not least some sports, a walk of 5 miles a few times a week will do you and your vital organs good...

My sister, who's 47, often works behind a computer. She once complained about having sore eyes. The doctor wasn't sure about the condition and prescribed antibiotics. Her eyes were redish and glazy from the tears. The antibiotics didn't do to job and she kept walking around like that for about 6 months. I knew she spent a lot of time behind the computer screen and suggested she take a vitamin A complex for a few weeks. I myself was surprised to see how her eyes went back to normal after three days of taking that supplement.
This has nothing to do with your condition, just to point out that the solution don't always have to be found in more drastic ways...

That is a good symptom of depression so go see a doctor and have some checking done. The doctor most likely will send you to a councilor and then to another doctor that can prescribe medication if it is something the councilor can't handle.

notice the response from a male differs from all the female responses. i am a man and will be 61 soon. i feel the more i get older the more confident i become. the only problem is when you do things over and over again life leads to boredom and to counter this i turn to sports. i wish you would do the same.

I am older than you. I have come to realize that the older a person gets the more fears they have. Especially if they are going through menopause. You should consult with your personal physician. Hope I helped you

you may have a hormone inbalance that comes along with menopause. i would suggest going to your gyn and getting checked out he/she can give you something to balance the hormones and you will feel a whole lot better and back to your normal self.
