Shifty eyes, eyes contact. feet points away or at you, shoulders turned, slouched, quick to change topic. This is if you keep probing the matter.
One way I hate to say it, iam rather aggressive go out for dinner, casually bring up the topic of marriage guage how it goes. Does he get hot, or does the family seem oblivious etc.
second way, like I said a lie is difficult to remember, so if you start noticing little variations in the answers its possiably a lie. After awhile right in the eye speak from deep down "Have you or have you not talked to your family about marriage!?" From here it depends on what your relation is in the deal. Prove it, great lets go talk with them, or continue probing.
Just keep your eyes open he'll give it away, after that its how blunt you want to be about, if you want to be sneaky or straight up.

What? That doesn't make sense. I'll just answer the title.
Why do you need to "catch him red-handed?" You aren't a judge; you need to require that you prove to yourself that he's a dog, lol. So conclude that he's not trustworthy, and say goodbye.

Try to check out for the facts from his close friends and relative that you are convensate with - it might help. Follow up on his moves make you count them as far as you can - but be careful!!!
