Is ChampCar SOL?

Shouldn't stock cars/open-wheel etc. be the categories rather than NASCAR/IRL?

I tell you what, I've been on Answers for awhile, and I think I'm the only person who ever asked a Champ Car question. Could be wrong. One of the answers i got was something like "Didn't Champ Car fold up years ago". So, really no demand for it among race fans which is a shame because it's a great series.

I was a champ car fan before the split with the IRL and I gradually went away from it. Now I don't really follow it at all. Especially since Sebastien Bourdais is dominating and, his only challenger, AJ Allemendinger, is going to nascar. If the two series stay exactly the same moving forward then I think that Champ Car may go away because the tv viewership is going down and support amongst team owners and drivers is dwindling. However, I don't think that the IRL is in a much better situation either since it really only has the Indy 500 and a handful of road courses in the mix.
If the two sides come together then things will go very differently because it will consolidate fans, consolidate races, increase the number of teams and sponsors, decrease costs to the teams through higher volumes and give easier access to the Indy 500 to Champ Car drivers.

Yes. Not only is Champ car SOL but everything else in motorsport. You would think that different categories of motor racing would be the dividing factors. But as usual, we only have the three car series titles that come to mind of everyone with near to no interest in racing altogether. They aren't even the types of auto racing; they are registered brand names. It's a crying shame.

What happened to boats like unlimited hydroplane and jet skis, motorcycles and motocross, go carts on up to F3, rally racing, planes, land speed records, Gumball, and on and on and on? There are even people out there racing motorized toilets. You're right. We need to hear about it!

I suspect questions on any form of racing can be posted here - General Auto Racing. Perhaps someone will ask a question about this weekend's Macau Formula Three race.
As for nobody asking Champ Car questions; I've answered several.

F-1 never fared well in the US. Why did champ-car think their road-race series would be any different. BOOORRRRIIINNGG!!

I think there is a lack when it comes to things like MotoGP. They should have got a separate category.
