It is *NOT* Jehovah's Witnesses who save lives; true Christians recognize that Jehovah sent His son Christ Jesus as the salvation of mankind. Salvation cannot be earned; it is an undeserved gift which God hopes each human will accept.
The Scriptures quite plainly explain that humans can disqualify themselves from receiving everlasting life; it is only the faithful COMPLETION of a life course that assures salvation.
(Zephaniah 2:3) Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. PROBABLY you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger. [emphasis added]
(Amos 5:15) Hate what is bad, and love what is good, and give justice a place in the gate. It MAY be that Jehovah the God of armies will show favor [emphasis added]
(Matthew 7:13-14) Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
(Matthew 24:13) But he that has endured TO THE END is the one that will be saved. [emphasis added]
(Philippians 2:12) Keep WORKING OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling [emphasis added]
(Hebrews 10:26-27) For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, 27 but there is a certain fearful expectation of judgment
(Hebrews 5:9) [Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those OBEYING him [emphasis added]
(James 2:14,17) Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? ...17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

Of course it is being forced upon us. They come to our door and have the audacity to tell us that THEY alone have the power to save us? Let me ask you a question, would you have a problem with a complete stranger walking up to you out of the blue and telling you that the person you were seeing/married was not right for you? Of course not, and the question these Jehovah's witnesses are asking us is even more personal than that. They are in violating our privacy and challenging our PERSONAL beliefs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Jehovah's witnesses having the beliefs that they do, but it is appalling that they feel the need to impose their beliefs upon others.

I invite him in and then proceed to give him my life saving message. The lecture does not last more than 10 minutes and he/they leave. There does not exist a single correct life saving message anywhere. I have learned to really button up when others show interest in my well being, or my soul. The point is nobody can have a say in somebody's life. They all have the same goal. To save my soul. IT IS MINE TO SAVE OR DAMN. A LITTLE PARABLE:
The scene is in gods city. A roaming soul stops a passing angel and asks him if he knows that Judaism Christianity and Islam, all claim to have the same roots. The angel replied that not only he is aware of the problem but that it developed into a major issue in the city of God and finally they all ended up in court.
And who won asked the soul.
Jehovah answered the angel because he had witnesses.

No I'm not cos if I wanted to be saved, I would walk into a Kingdom Hall or a Jehovah witness gathering of my own freewill. It terribly annoys me when people knock on my door, disrupt my sleep and that of my little one sometimes because they have a message. If I needed to be saved, then surely I should be the one seeking help not the other way round.

Then if its not forced then the people dont have to listen if they dont wish to.
How can alot of people take this for real when there are so many different religious groups out there, who supposedly all worship the same God. It just doesnt fit well with many.. and sometimes people just dont want to be preached to.
If its so important to you go and do a blog and let people see your message that way.

I have experienced this.
The most memorable time for me was the time I was going through my divorce and I advised the JW's that I don't lock my doors. My house is always open.
The JW's gave me a sermon about how I should be protecting myself and my children...bla bla bla.
I simply stated that "my God is worthy of my trust". No offence, but I just live my life that way and I see no reason to assume that people have more power than God! If someone is going to break into my home, they will do it even if the door is locked. I trust my Higher Power!
The JW's did not return.

The bane of intelligent, busy people everywhere. They're almost impossible to get rid of. I stated flat out that I was an atheist and his response was : "It must take a lot of faith to believe there could be such a world without God."
The ones in my area always bring along a little kid with them. That way you can't colourfully tell them where you'd like them to go. As much as I may despise them and all they stand for, I still can't bring myself to be disrespectful in front of their children.
When I was working in a Nursing home they used to sneak in all the time and tell all the elderly how misguided they were and how they would never get to heaven if they didn't change their ways. That's really helpful info for an 89 year old cancer patient to hear. How about something postive to look forward to? It was standing orders to chase them right out the front door.
What really bothers me is how they go about spreading their "faith". Handing out pamphlets in bus stations that are hidden in dustcovers that proclaim them to be something else altogether. Sneaky and dishonest, that. Using Scare Tactics and Bullying. And invading people's privacy at home.
If we wanted to be "saved" we'd seek you out.

The last time Jehovahs witnesses came to my door, my 3 year old nephew (who didn't know better) hollered out "Come in!" and it took 30 minutes and a threat to call the cops to get them to leave.

If I wanted my life saved, then I would find them....
Ps. Jehovah witness' are more like a business, they take a percentage of your wage and in return what? they are "saving your life"...... they need to recognise the divide between the public and private sphere... at home I don't want to be annoyed with hurtful religious views ..
