care homes are big carriers because they keep the home so warm. Qual lotion is the only way to rid the body of scabies. the home has to be cleaned from top too bottom.all bedding, clothes you have worn need to be washed, hot dryer, no clothes line.scabies can live in the floorboards bed rails, they need to set beds out in the sun after their cleaned with lysol.

Yes absolutely. Scabies passes with physical contact - so just shaking hands with someone can pass it on. Working in a care home is *exactly* the type of place you'd pick up scabies.

terrible. The source could be the care home definately. I speak from experience. I worked in a care home years ago and there was scabies found on one patient. Every patient, their visitors, staff and anyone who had been in contact with the home had to be treated. My husband and my 2 children also. The bedding was literally bolied also. Carpets shampooed. It was a nightmare. Your partner has an obligation to the care of the patients and staff etc to come clean about the scabies, although it may be unlikey that he or she is the carrier, everyone must be treated including yourself. The lotion, I think it was lyclear we used has to cover your whole body including head, crevices, in between toes etc and applied liberally. Take care and good luck

Scabies is caused by a parasitic mite, Sarcoptes scabei. It generally spreads through prolonged skin-to-skin contact; shaking hands isn't generally enough to do it. It's common for members of a family to become infected if one member is; it can be spread through things like sheets, towels, etc. (my son and his father got this from infested sleeping bags at a campout one time). A lotion or cream containing 5% permethrin is generally prescribed for treatment of scabies; in addition, bedding, towels, etc., should be washed in hot water, and upholstered furniture should be vacuumed thoroughly, and then the bag should be thrown away. If you or your partner have contract scabies, contact your doctor for a prescription for Elimite or a similar medication containing permethrin.

if someone in the home has scabies, he could contract it from touching their skin or from towels or bedding. Make sure he wears gloves at all times, scabies can travel quickly in care homes.

The most coommon answer is through the washing of clothes. If there is scabies in the house it can infestate into clothes. Once it gets on the skin its a nightmare to get rid of.

The short answer is YES -- anytime the private sector runs an organization, it is more efficient, more cost effective, more humane, more organized, and provides better service than a government organization. Just look at private vs. state hospitals. And your question is a bit disingenuous, because Christians as a group already give more money to charities than any other group. The number of people without health care is skewed, because it does not separate the number of people who COULD have insurance but choose NOT to, among other things. The number is also skewed because it includes ILLEGAL aliens -- ILLEGAL aliens that we should NOT have to provide health care for. Further children of low-income parents can already get government health care (aka Medicaid) if their low-functioning lazy-*** parents would just go sign them up for it. I don't think the government should be required to pay for healthcare for people who simply don't want to work (and there are plenty of them). But let me put this back on YOU: Obama's plan calls for governmental oversight of doctors to ensure they are giving quality care. Yet, Obama has NOT said how many government workers it will take to oversee all these doctors, nor has there been any projection of the salaries of all these new government workers. Not to mention the fact that doctors ALREADY HAVE oversight, through the AMA. So Obama's oversight is unnecessary spending, with an undetermined amount which will cost taxpayers millions of dollars each year. Next, the end-of-life counseling is not adequately addressed. Just WHO is going to do this counseling? And WHO is going to have be hired to ensure that the so-called counselors are adhering to a strict code of ethics and not imposing government-directed bias? Obama hasn't thought that through, either. And their salaries and operating costs over the years? And there is also a tax on the alleged "rich" if they decide to retain their private health care -- there is no way that people will go unpunished for not "choosing" governmental health care -- and that punishment will come in the form of punatorial fees and taxes. That impedes personal choice and freedom. All in all -- the plan is a extremely badly written one that will have terrible ramifications on our country which will last forever -- because it is very rare that any government policy, once put into place, is ever rescinded. How many of your friends' healthcare are YOU paying for? Why don't YOU go adopt a homeless person and pay for all his healthcare, eh? I have a feeling you don't fully understand how much this plan is going to cost you, or you're in such a low tax bracket that you don't care how much it's going to cost people who make more than you (they must be punished for success!). You don't understand that the government cannot, and was never intended to be, the provider of all things to all people. Look -- I don't care if you give up your freedoms -- but do not impose upon mine. Obama = socialism at its worst, most dishonest and most arrogant. ________________ The answer is yes, we probably could. ________________ And anyone can read the plan for themselves (Lord knows WE should, because our representatives probably won't before they vote for it-- )
