will these blisters ever leave your fingertips, or is it permanent

Mine left after about 9 months or so.

I wish they hadn't, in a way, as I now play sporadically and they'd come in handy. A steel string hurts after a few minutes now.

Not sure why this question is under religion and spirituality, but if you stop playing the guitar for AT LEAST six months to a year or more, they will disappear. I know because I stopped playing for about 8 years, and I had to start all over on building them up again.

Mine went away as soon as I switched to Ernie Ball Slinky Strings they bend easier so I apply less pressure also my hand cramped less and I could always keep my notes sounding better....plus the twang out of them are amazing hope this helps

Yes. When you stop playing the callouses will, as the skin cells are replaced over time, disappear.

Not as long as you continue to play the guitar.

I TRUTHFULLY KNOW THIS QUESTION FROM THE HEART.NO THEY WONT GO AWAY BECAUSE THE LONGER YOU PLAY THE GUITAR IT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE.BUT NOW I HAVENT PLAYED IN LIKE 4 YEARS NOW?GOD THAT SOUNDS LIKE FOREVER,BUT I DONT HAVE NONE NOW.SO I THINK IF YOU QUIT PLAY;ING THAN YOU WILL.YOU ARE NOT THINKING ABOUT GIVING IT UP ARE YA?GOOD GOD MAN IF YOU ARE SHAME ON YOU.THAT IS PURE TALENT.AND THAT TALENT IS ONLY FROM YOU.YOU ARE BLESSED WITH THAT TALENT.AND ESPECIALLY THERE ARENT MANY PEOPLE THAT KNOWS HOW.AT LEAST I DONT THINK THEY ARE.I WOULD NEVER GIVE IT UP THOUGH.I MAY HAVE QUIT PLAYING THOUGH FOR AWHILE,BUT WILL PICK IT BACK UP AGAIN.MY DAD TAUGHT ME HOW TO PLAY AND HE IS STILL ALIVE THOUGH,BUT WHEN HE IS GONE I WANT TO KEEP THE ART OF PLAYING THE GUITAR FOR HIM.BECAUSE ME,HIM,MY UNCLE,AND MY GRANDFATHER AND MY COUSIN ARE MUSICIANS.AND I WANT TO KEEP THAT HERITAGE.SO I AM JUST SAYING DUDE,DONT GIVE IT UP.IT IS SPECIAL TO YOU,AND IT IS TO ME.
BLESSED BE,
OSTARA WITCH

As long as you keep playing, the callouses will always be there. Just be greatful for them.... the first while when you're learning are the worst I wouldn't want to have to deal with that everytime I played!

I quit playing for a few years and they left. Now I'm taking up bass, and the whole painful procedure begins again... :)
