You hold direct pressure over the cut for 5 minutes. This usually will stop any bleeding, even when taking blood thinners. Use a piece of gauze or a clean rag when holding the pressure on a cut. Some people, even when taking blood thinners never have any problems with bleeding and with any cut, it stops quickly on it's own. The just have to give you warnings when taking this medication that it is possible for you to bleed more easily or for a longer period of time but unless the cut is very deep, there is rarely a lot of blood.
