"Religion has caused more wars than anything else in history."

It is true that man has used religion for political gain. Nazi Germany had "God with us" engraved in German on the belts of Nazi soldiers. America said, "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." The law may even allow you to start the Christian Nazi Party, if you so desire. You can become a "reverend" for a few dollars through the tabloid classifieds and then further your political agenda with the world’s blessing, no matter how much it smears the name of Christ.

Jesus tells us in John 16:2,3 that there will be some who, in their error, commit atrocities and murder in the name of God: "The time is coming that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service." However, He informs us that these are not true believers: "And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me." (See also 1 John 3:15.)

Jesus told His followers to love their enemies. So if a man puts a knife into someone’s back in the name of Christianity, something obviously isn’t right. If we human beings can detect it, how much more will God? He will deal with it on Judgment Day.

"I know that the Lord is always on the side of right. But it is my constant
anxiety and prayer that I—and this nation—should be on the Lord’s side."
-Abraham Lincoln

"Real" Christians are a tiny fragment of the huge masses which profess Christianity, and for the most part are unknown by any outside their own very small circles. The "real deal" Christians are secretive and charismatic and can be felt at a distance by anyone who is sensitive to such things. I happen to be a member of a certain discipline which recognizes them as being among some of the most advanced of orders. The christians you refer to are in name only, not actually followers of the christhood, but rather a sort of casual fraternity which practice in word only, not in actual works.

And how many Christians have been killed? And do you know they are still being killed around the world. And since killing is against what the Christian faith is about, you need to ask yourself if they were really Christians. Not everyone that says they are a Christian, truly is one.

I don't. And it MUST be more than 100 million. Much much more. Over 2000 years of history and the truly terrible things it's done, 100 million is a drop in the bucket.

John 16:1-4
1"I have told you these things so that you won't fall away.
2For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing God a service.
3This is because they have never known the Father or me.
4Yes, I'm telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember I warned you. I didn't tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer.

LARRY, are your "historians"?

Jack Chick? A. Hyslop? D. Hunt? L. Bottner?
Try giving names instead of the same old boring hate speech that has never been substantiated.

Historians consider Catholics as Christians, Catholicism is not Christianism. The catholic church has lead or agreed with thousands of battles, including WWII, always trying to get rid of the Jews, and killed thousands of innocent people in the dark ages, with the inquisition, and have orchestrated massacres like the Saint Bartolomeo's in Spain in 1960 to kill protestants. In South of Mexico, Catholics are always finding reasons to kill baptists and Evangelicals.
So, please, do not get them confused with one another.

hmm....

Raining bombs today.

The fact still remains that the perpetrators of this colossal Genocide against non-Christians were Christians.

Even if the perpetrators merely used (misused and abused) the name of God to commit these atrocities, Christians cannot deny that this was the foundation for them to practice their faith today.

This is not about Christians apologizing about their past but merely an acknowledgment that these events occurred.

Sad but true.

I believe no religion in this world would teach its followers to hate or even kill those from other religion, right? It is all done by human's greed, hatred and not at all from any religion teaching.
