one day it just dawned on me that there is no reason for me to believe in god.

I don't believe in what the bible says because it was rewritten 25,000 times since it was originally written, so its kind of like 2000 years of wisper down the lane.

so please don't quote the bible.

Having faith in something other than youself or things of this world is very gratifying and relaxing.

It takes pressure of you, as you no longer need every answer. It opens up your spiritual side, which is bigger than your intellectual side. It would be tragic going through life only seeing half of the possiblities.

This does not come from saying "I believe" but from seeking God through practicing spiritual principles.

Thanks!

No. God reveals, man observes.

You are trying to get to God by reason (observation).

Everything we know about God is in the bible: God's word as spoken by the prophets. You either believe what the prophets said or you don't. Nothing can changed your true beliefs.

The bible is made up of the Holy Scriptures (Old Testament) and the New Testament. No one disputes the Old Testament because Jews have carefully preserved the scrolls for about 3500 years. The New Testament you can find in the libraries of the world. 18th Century scholarship has identified every word in the New Testament and the Old Testament. From the Hebrew and Greek, we hear the words of the prophets. The bible interprets itself.

In sum, your true beliefs are yours. Questioning the accuracy of the bible is not rational, because it comes down to what prophets you belief. Pretending there is something rationalization forgets that God reveals, man observes.

If you don't believe you don't.
What that is, is unbelief
You don't have to believe anything, that is your choice.
What will happen if it is real, and you didn't believe?
Excuses, excuses, seems you are looking for answers
If the Bible was rewritten that many times and has been in existence
for thousands of years, 2000 years since the Birth of Christ
Must be something to it.
Your choice.
Keep looking for answers, check out the web, do searches.
Read study books, commentary's
I can just say that the one reason to believe in God is he is real, alive and living in me and millions of others , I know him as a personal friend
You can too.

Well, if you believe there is an existence of a higher power up there but you are doubting if it is God, then it means you are still in the search for the right teaching.

Besides the Bible, have you try to approach other religion like Buddhism? First of all Buddhism is not a religion which many thought it is but it is actually more to teaching of life.

There was once a Prince in India, who was very curious about the life outside the palace and sneaked out on his own with his servants to see the life of normal people in his country.

Thus, he saw people are getting sick and old everywhere and the fact that most of them are going to die soon makes him wonder why is this happening whe he himself is living in luxury.

Then, he vowed to leave the palace and seek out the truth of life on how to overcome those pain people suffer everyday. He went on to look for many masters that teaches their own religion but none answered his questions.

Until one day, under the Bodhi tree, this Prince got enlightened and soon after that, he spread his teaching to everyone in India and thus, he became the founder of Buddhism.

I can't think of one good reason for "you" to believe in God. Nope.
Even you must admit it's good for some people to have something to hold on to. The social atmosphere of the Christian community isn't a bad thing is it?
The way they help each other when someone is in need.
They way they comfort each other when a loved one dies.
Are these bad things?
Maybe you don't need anyone but yourself. There are many who need the social structure of religion. No I'm not one of them. I'm a nomad.
Sure they get annoying when they over preach. But they're people too. They need to exist just as you and I do.
There you have it. I don't care if you believe in God or not.
Whatever floats your boat.

You are spirit but you can not discern spiritual things until your spirit is born. The Bible is spirit, it is God breathed. If you will believe in God you will get to know the real you. You don't know yourself unless you are born again. your self wars against your spirit. Self has ruled you for years and it wants to continue. Your spirit craves God.It wants to follow God. Your question came out of your spirit. It is weak .Let your spirit have it's way and see what happens. Old things will pass away and all things will become new. You will see differently and think differently.God will not reveal anything to you until you come to Him. The Bible is foolishness to the natural man. So you told the truth, you can not believe what the Bible says yet. I hope that You will cry out to God. When you get fed up with failing, depression, evilness and being lost you will hunger for the truth and you will turn to God, I hope you don't die before that happens but we are not promised tomorrow. If you don't believe in The bible then you think you are your source for all things but you will find out that you are not. God wants us to depend on him. What if your children didn't believe anything you said? God is our creator and Father. When you first are born again in the spirit you are like a baby. You have to learn and mature in the spirit. What would happen if you didn't eat for 1 yr.? you would die. Your spirit is fed by The bible. Your spirit eats it [the word]and gets stronger and stronger then it matures fully. If you feed your spirit more than you feed your body you will be stronger in the spirit and you can discern the spiritual things of God. It makes life sooo much more peaceful and enjoyable. If you don't believe in the Bible then God can't bless you. Do you ever pray? If you pray to God you will have to read the Bible. It is His love letter to you. men didn't author the Bible. It is God's breathe. He wrote it to you so that you will know all truth. It will bless you.

It is the words that has troubled you?..... Don't worry about the words.... Just think about what is inside of you.....

What is inside of you is a writing in itself waiting to be read. A story which differs from everything else that anyone of like mind could encompass of themselves.

The story within you is written everyday at a time, one day at a time in an impossible place of possible rationale.

That place, where you go, that calls unto you every night, that makes your body have no weight in its realm.... is the kingdom of God......

It is the image of God that you display while there..... and the language there is a mystery to your waking life that it is hard to image that one was even there.....

That is the place I speak of...... And to understand it, means that you understand the meaning of the "open book"....... It is one of many... But it is not the "Book of Life"......

It became approximately 13 years in the past once I had only moved into an previous shop in Hollywood California, i became devastated by utilising a cutting-edge heart destroy and that i became chatting with the son of the save proprietor whom i became working for. We have been sharing a Marijuana joint whilst sitting on the stairs at the back of the save at nighttime. He suggested that his dad asked him to tell me something, i became like "What?" Then he suggested something to the consequence of "All that stuff they say approximately Jesus is actual." and then I had a non secular awakening with hallucinations and each thing. It became the main frightening journey of my existence, yet I nevertheless have self belief there's a God till as we communicate time. earlier that 2d I had incredibly much an entire absence of religion, I say incredibly much because of the fact I do bear in mind crying out to the sky one nighttime whilst i became in a demoralized innovations set. That recommend some volume of religion, tho everyone could have a 2d of panic. i will't arise with a single logical reason to have self belief in god, in case you spot flora and timber and understand them to advance and would fathom the universe popping into life from the cosmic harmonics of string concept then there's no longer something everyone can say to make you think of diverse. yet have you ever asked the sky to coach you God? this is an act of religion, and an act of religion has consequences.

A few people have mentioned hell/heaven as a reason. I think if there is a god, he/she/it would be able to tell your reasons for believing, and if you're only trying to save your own ***, that won't help you. But I can't give you a reason to believe, since I've never found one.
