Ash Wednesday is the first day of the season of Lent. We receive the ashes from the palms from the previous Palm Sunday. The ashes are a sign of repentance. It is 40 days before Good Friday (the Friday before Easter).

All Saints Day is Nov. 1.

The Epiphany is 12 days after Christmas. That is when we celebrate the visitation of the 3 kings.

God bless,

Ash Wednesday is 46 days before Easter, which is the Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. In 2007, Ash Wednesday is on February 21.

All Saints Day is always November 1, the day after Halloween.

Epiphany is on January 6, although some churches celebrate it on the Sunday following January 1st.

Note, Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate under a different calendar and Easter can be as much as seven weeks later.

Ash Wednesday is a fasting day, not a feast day. Mardi Gras, the day before Ash Wednesday, has been made into a secular feast day. In a similar way, Hallowe'en is a secular play day before All Saints Day. I believe Epiphany is a feast day 12 days after Christmas.

The date of Ash Wednesday depends on the date of Easter each year. It does not occur on the same date every year.

All Saints Day is November 1.

Epiphany is January 6.
