That would be impossible.... Lest he believe and be converted.
A darwinian has already come to an understanding that God does not exist, thus making and aligning himself as being agnostic. perhaps having a form of faith that distances himself from anything that calls itself god......
But, if he find a faith in Jesus, and being converted, should be found as such a follower. Then, would he be construed as a Christian.

Ginger

Atheist and darwinian here, but contrary to popular belief there is no reason a xian can't be a darwinian. ToE makes no comment and has no requirement for the existence or nonexistence of god or christ. It just renders literal interpretation of the Genesis creation and the Noah flood allegorical. And of course, if THAT is made up and just plain wrong....then the real question for the christian is.....just how much of the rest of it is made up too?

Yes, most enlightened Christians believe in Micro-evolution. The process by which species can change over time. The more debatable big-bang theory is mostly refuted in Christian circles; however, one is not forced to believe all the teachings or history of the bible to be a Christian. You can have a personal belief in Jesus and believe in Full Darwinian evolution. (I have a buddisht philosopher friend who always asks, well, how was the ball of matter that led to the big bang created?) I will probably be cited as a heretic, but nowhere in the bible does it state that one must disavow Scientific thought to believe in God.

A Darwinian would be someone that worships Darwin, right? No one worships Darwin. He had some good ideas, and some that turned out not to be right. We just like the good idea of evolution. Deny the real world all you want, but don't throw away all the science of the last 150 years on some unprovable belief. Oh wait, you're using a computer, so I can see you haven't.

Just like just about everyone, Ive tried to balance out the "facts" that have been discovered about prehistoric remnants and the what not, just trying to make sense on how everything could fit into place.
Ive even thought of things from an athiest point of view in the sense of how they challenge religious believers in the sense that how can we believe soemthing we have never seen.
Cant the theories of evloution be held in the same regards?
believing in something you never saw?
If youre hearts in the right place, and you want to believe in GOD, a "darwinist" will be judge on that confusion that is very easy to overcome someone know adays, and how they choose to live their life.
With many inconsistencies that are often pointed out within the Bible, by the many religious groups out to prove themselves against the others, I am not in the least surprised of how easy it could become to fray away from the topic altogether.
But taken into context, and studying the past, thats where you learn to piece together the clues that are evidence in the past.
Meaning, Roman Catholicism -- even the Bible stems from Constantine gathering together the religious leaders of the time and trying to unify the beliefs into one book -- The Bible as we know it.
what about all the other books that did not make it?
this incomplete man assembled Bible has ruled and been the tool used to shape even most religious beliefs from other religions.
I have no idea, no proof as to why dinosaur remnants are being discovered. And as far as the big bang theory. perhaps thats part of the manner in which GOD created the universe.
Perhaps it was figuratively written, and since Constantine had the power to include or omit anything he felt was inappropriate or would cause confusion, then we'll never know.
If you find a way to balance it all, please let me know, because it is something I often wonder about myself.
Then I look at everything around me, the miracle of nature, AND the beauty of people. the fact that man stands supreme in a way that is outside what Darwin and darwinism couldnt explain.
Then I look at the facts that support what I believe in, Abraham and Sarahs Tomb, King Davids Reign, all the customs that have been past down, and The Book, although man-asembled still holds with it the most beautiful messages ever conceived.
Thats my balance.
And theneverything makes sense, and how GOD started this universe doesnt have as much importance than how should I live the few precious days I am given here.
If it doesnt make sense, well at least it does to me.

Of course, or any other religion. There has never been a conflict between science and religion, the conflict is between science and the people who use religion as tool for achieving wealth and secular power. If people start questioning the infallibility of the church, the clergy might have to get real jobs.

The ONLY thing that saves you is the belief in Christ as Saviour, John 3:16. In my book, if you are saved by Christ, you are a Christian.
I believe in evolution, and I'm a born again Christian.
AND before you Bible Thumping Fundamentalist Christians (who drive people away from the Lord by the bus load) attack me, take Christ's words on judging fundamentally (casting first stone.....etc.)

why not?
What makes someone a Darwinian?
Evolution is "known" written fact. Christ "rising from the dead" is a belief.
