If you and your family know the girl, arranged marriage might be fine. otherwise, you need to at least talk with the girl few times to get to know each other. That may be love or may be just getting to know each other.

I don't buy the most western idea of dating, living together, having kids and finally staging a drama of getting married.

For a very minority few who may not be able to meet or pair up with prospective life partners, arranged marriages offer another avenue for the willing parties.
Correct me if I am wrong: in some parts of India, this practice may be prevalent. Such arranged marriages are usually arranged by both the groom's and bride's families.
Given a choice, one would obviously go for love marriage. But in some societies, parental objection could be a formidable obstacle, and in many cases, people either succumb to it or "elope" with their loved ones.
Consider the situation you are in, and make a decision that will impact you for the rest of your life.

I have a girlfriend from college who had an arranged marriage from the time she was born...she couldn't be happier!! It sounds like yours isn't the same situation, but you might want to go with the arranged (especially if the first 3 were your choice...and didn't work out like you wanted).

You have to be in love. That one person you cant stand not seeing for one minute. Who you cant stop thinking about when they are not with you. Arranged marriage has no grantee, you may not have any attraction to them at all. they might just drive you crazy. You never know. it takes time to know some one enough to know you want to spend the rest of your life with them.

Marriage is too hard to do without love. Love is what you 'fall back on' when you are sick of him leaving the toilet seat up, leaving the cap off the toothpaste, picking his teeth at the table, spitting out the car window/door, picking up his dirty socks off the floor (again), smelling his dirty underwear, forgetting your birthday/anniversary, and finishing too soon in the bedroom.

You need to know and understand the person before marriage, although love and dedication are qually important in a marriage.

If someone tried to arrange my marriage I would be miserable forever. If I do not love someone I do not want to be with them.
