you have nothing until you report to Basic Training in January.
you will need to bring with you to MEPS: marriage certificate, your spouse(and any children) 's Social Secuirty cards, your bank account information( to set up your pay). Before you leave, it's a good idea to set up a Power of Atoney for your spouse, and to call your creditors before hand to work out stuff, as it will be 6-8 weeks before you get that first paycheck deposited.
Once you report to Basic, you will enter your spouse and any Children into DEERS. Once that is accomplished, they are automatically enrolled into Tricare Standard. Tricare Prime and dental must be enrolled seperately. The is a monthly fee for Dental. You will fill out some paperwork to send to your spouse, and when she gets that, she will be able to go to any military installation( not just Army) to get her ID. Once she has her ID, she can enroll into PRIME and Dental. If enrollement occurs prior to the 20th of the month, coverage goes into effect the 1st of the next month. If after that, the firts of the following month.
You will receive Base pay at first. Family Seperation does NOT go into affect until day 31, and if she comes to see you graduate(or on Family day if doing OSUT), the counter will revert back to zero.

You will not have insurance or benefits until you start Basic. Your wife will not see any separation pay during the time you are at basic either. Once you start basic you will both be covered by the military insurance, but IF you wash out for any reason you will lose all benefits once separated from the service.
I am assuming that you mean 07.01.29 if not then you are just a bit late showing up for Basic.

You will not get anything till you pass the basic training and graduate. The only thing you can sign her up for the insurance and it starts on the 1 of the month. but no separation pay till you active duty. Sorry no luck.

astro has a pretty good list of the bennies you'll get in the Army. Just a note though, your wife cannot enroll in Tricare (the health insurance) until you enroll her in DEERS. In order for her to then use the coverage she would have to enroll in Tricare in her area (she can do this online at www.tricareonline.com if there isn't a post nearby to do it in writing). Talk to your recruiter to make sure what paperwork needs to be done for all this to be put through, and to see how long it usually takes. You're ELIGIBLE for the benefits, but if she's not filed in writing as your wife, they still consider you single.

I am Active Duty Navy, we get basically the same exact benefits, they are just called different things.
Bennies:
Her Medical starts the 1st day of the next month after you enroll her in Tricare. ie. If you ship to boot camp on the date above, and enroll her in tricare before the 1st, she would receive insurance on the 1st. if you enroll her after the 1st, it would start the next month.
Basic allowance for housing (BAH): Money to pay your rent based on your zip code. I'm in Pensacola Florida, our BAH is 925, San Diego, CA is 1500, etc. goes by cost of living.
Basic Allowance for Substance/Communited Rations (COMRATS or BAS): Money for you to eat, however, if a Galley, or Mess facility is provided, such as at boot camp, you will not receive this.
Those are the basic benefits, which all start the day you are placed on Active Duty.
There are a few more, I will research more on the Army and I will get back to you.
Edit: Also, seperation pay. When you are seperated from your spouse for more than 30 days, you begin to receive seperation pay, which is a flat $250 a month. This does NOT start until after you successfully complete Basic Training.
Also, if you are in a war zone, ie iraq, you get compat pay, hazardous duty pay, etc.

Hi future Troop,
They will go over all this with you during your induction, but I do know that you will get extra money for being married,, and your benifits begin when your processed I think??
When you get to where you are going to do basic, they will have people that will explain things to you then...
I suggest that you mark off about 3 miles and begin running to get into shape,, depending on your age, you will have to make a 2.5 mile run in around 15 minutes or less.. sit ups and push ups.. to get ahead an not be sore.... cut way back on fatty foods also, if your large.. you will not get them there.....
good luck
