i am using a mac, and when i try to make a dvd with imovies, no sound shows up, im using a video file with the extension .mpg, and the video comes out good, but theres no sound... ami doing something wrong?

I use OSX and iMovies too. The problem is the .mpg file. iMovie works on DV format. So when you import the .mpg file, iMovie is able to extract the video track and convert into DV format but not the audio track. Problem with .mpg (probably MPEG1 format) interweaves the audio and video into a single stream. This adds complexity on how video editors splits the audio and video track. You probably will not have this problem if you are working on a more generic quicktime format.

You need to look for an application that can extract the audio from the .mpg file in OSX.
