It just seems a bit too fitting that Sodom and Gomorrah were located in an area where tectonically the activity is very high (boundry between the Eurpoean, African and Middle Eastern plates). It seems too fitting that during those times tectonic activity was very high, with earthquakes very often producing Tsunamis. It seems very fitting that several towns and cities in that area of the Med 'disappeared' over night to be replaced with soil (we all now know how a tsunami can cause havoc as seen a few years ago on boxing day). It seems very fitting that several cities and villages for this time have been found under soil and even underwater. It also seems very fitting that in the area of Sodom and Gomorrah, Asphalt used to 'bob' up to the surface of the water and was 'harvested' by the people (Asphalt is a flammable substance; fire and brimstone, comes for below the surface, get my drift) It also seems very fitting that there is nothing in the bible to contradict this!

According to God's judgement: Yes.
God saw that sin had contaminated peoples hearts so badly that even wanted to have sex with God's angels, by the way, the bigest sin of Sodoma and Gomorra was homosexuality, and Jesus said that the last days of earth would be like those of Sodoma and Gomorra.

And to A Geologist, Yes, God knew of all those things related to the geography of the area. And is not the first time that God uses the natural phenomena to bring judgment over a certain area. After all, he created the natural world.

From all of my bible knowledge I have learned over the years

It says everyone is born with sin from when sin entered the garden of Eden it spread all over the world flowing out of the four main rivers.
there weren't even 10 righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah
God would have saved the city if there were 10 righteous people only because Abraham asked, but there was only Lot and his family.

The sin of the city was too great for God's holiness He destroyed it.

God does not hate the sinner but the sins the person commits for God loves everyone so how can he hate the sinner if he loves everyone? can you answer me that people who think differnetly?

No it was a only a select group of men who were immoral. The only reason God did anything was because the were non-Israelites and the people that were harassed were his angels. If it were mortals who were harassed and if it were Israelis who were the immoral men then God apparently doesn't care. It is up to the men to defend themselves or avenge themselves as evidenced in Judges chapter 19.

God considers elimination of someone's descendants, especially the heirs i.e. firstborns, the biggest punishment which is why he often instructs the Israelis to massacre the whole town and not to leave any women or children alive.

Hey, now, let's not be hasty. Einstein did not fully realise how the gov't was going to use the bomb. He wanted it to be a threat.

Now, read Deuteronomy and Judges and any other books of the OT. Sodom and Gamorrah aren't special cases. Gos kills men, women, children, young and old, and even sheep, donkeys and cows. On occasision He's been know to kill trees, too.

The Bible states that God said he wouldn't destroy the two cities if even 10 righteous people were found there. Obviously they were not found. Meaning yes even the children were corrupt and followed the inappropriate ways. Find it in Genesis chap 18 & 19

Well now, Egypt's decree came from Pharoh! God just gave him his wish!

As for Sodom and Gohmorrah, ask President Truman, Robert Oppenheimer and Albert Einstein about the answer to that one, for a lot of people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are wondering about that same point...

It is my understanding that Lot was instructed to search the city for one righteous person. He could not find one. God instructed him to leave and take his family and don't look back. He was destroying a virus (unmeasurable sins) that could grow to infect others. His wife looked back because she was apart of that virus, too. If you move a trunk in your basement and discovered a bed of mice (including babies), Would you dispose of them before they grow and spread to other areas in your home? Sin is just as infectious

The lesson tells you that you just don't fool around with orders of God. If societies practice sodomy, adultery, homosexuality, etc in ignorance one way or the other they have to pay.
