Your brain (and central nervous system) run on glucose — that's the fuel you need to think, walk, talk, and carry on any and all activities. Let's say that the last time you eat something at night is at 10 or 11 PM (not optimal, just an example). The following day, you don't eat breakfast but wait until about noon or so to eat — you've gone thirteen or fourteen hours with nothing in your system. Your poor brain is surely deprived — and your body has to work extra hard to break down any stored carbohydrate or turn fat or protein into a usable form for your brain to function. That's a lot to ask for when you're sitting in a classroom, trying to concentrate on reading, or doing any other work. Eating breakfast has been proven (many times) to improve concentration, problem solving ability, mental performance, memory, and mood. You will certainly be at a disadvantage if your classmates have eaten breakfast and you've gone without. On average, they will think faster and clearer, and will have better recall than you. School or work can be tough enough without this extra added pressure.
Breakfast skippers also have a harder time fitting important nutrients into their diet. Many foods eaten at breakfast contain significant amounts of vitamins C and D, calcium, iron, and fiber.
Some people believe that skipping breakfast may help them lose weight. Not so! Skipping meals often leads to overeating later in the day. Becoming overhungry often leads to a lack of control and distorted satiety signals (meaning it's hard to determine when you're full). This can result in taking in more calories than if one had an appropriate breakfast. As a matter of fact, it's easier to control one's weight by eating smaller meals and snacks more frequently.
What if there's just no time in the morning to eat breakfast? There are plenty of items you can bring along with you to school or work. Carry a resealable bag of easy-to-eat whole grain cereal, or bring a yogurt or small box of skim milk, juice, or fruit. If you just can't stomach food in the morning, try to have a little something — such as some juice — and bring along a mid-morning snack. Other good portable items include: whole grain crackers, a hard boiled egg, cottage cheese, low-fat granola bars, or even a peanut butter sandwich. Single serving hot cereals, such as oatmeal, are handy — all you have to do is add hot water, available at most cafeterias or delis.
Whatever your choice, eat something. If you think you're doing fine with no breakfast, just try changing your tune for a week — You will undoubtedly perform better with some fuel in your system.

A Healthy Breakfast Is Good Nutrition
Start the Day Right - Don't Skip Breakfast
Studies show that children who eat breakfast do better in school. It doesn't take much further thought to know that adults will feel better and perform better at work as well. Whether you work at home, on the farm, at the office, at school, or on the road, it is not a good idea to skip breakfast.
If we skip breakfast, we are likely to become tired when our brains and bodies run low on fuel. By mid-morning, a lot of us grab a cup of coffee, or wolf down a sugary candy bar to wake up again. This might work for a few minutes, but by lunch time we are hungry, crabby, and perhaps our mood might make us a little more prone to making unhealthy choices at lunch. Eating a good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Skipping breakfast isn't a good strategy for losing weight
People who eat breakfast are generally more likely to maintain a healthy weight. Many people believe that they will lose weight if they skip meals, but that isn't a good idea. The body expects to be refueled a few times a day, so start with a healthy breakfast.
What is a Healthy Breakfast?
A healthy breakfast should contain some protein and some fiber. Protein can come from meat, eggs, beans, or soy (like tofu). Fiber can be found in whole cereals, grains or in fruits. A good example of a healthy breakfast might be something simple like a hard boiled egg, an orange, and a bowl of whole grain cereal with soy milk. Stay away from the sugary cereals, syrups, pastries, and white breads because they are digested quickly and will leave you hungry and tired in a couple of hours. Protein and fibers will keep the hunger pangs away until lunch time.
If you don't like to eat breakfast, or believe you don't feel good when you eat breakfast, you can break breakfast up into two smaller meals, but don't skip breakfast altogether. Eat a hard boiled egg at home, and an hour or 2 later, take a break from work and snack on an apple and a handful of healthy nuts like pecans or walnuts.
Breakfast Every Morning
Tomorrow morning, remember that eating a healthy breakfast is the best way to start off your day, and be good to yourself by eating breakfast. Notice how much better you feel through the morning and the rest of the day when you don't skip breakfast.
It might seem logical that skipping breakfast would mean fewer calories and easier weight control, but it doesn’t seem to be true most of the time. Studies show that frequently skipping breakfast is linked with higher body mass index (BMI), a measure of overweight. Of course, it’s possible that skipping breakfast doesn’t cause overweight; perhaps this is how people who are already overweight try to lose weight. Research suggests that people who eat breakfast are less likely to snack impulsively later on, and tend to do less overeating throughout the rest of the day.

You mean HAVING breakfast? Basically if you wanna live long you better eat breakfast. It ISN'T a lie when they say it's the most important meal of the day. But if you keep with a habit of not eating breakfast...you are only sending your body down a road of destruction basically. Have a nice day :).

Many people skip breakfast because they think they’ll burn more fat if they move on an empty stomach. This is not true! After a whole night starving, you need foods to gain energy to start your whole day routine.
Leaving breakfast just making your metabolism decrease. And you will tend to take lunch in a big amount!

Breakfast, the word can be split in to Break - fast, that is breaking a long fast after your dinner. As we sleep for minimum 4 hrs to maximum 8 hrs, there is a long gap in between so, we need to feed ourselves in order to energise our system.
‘Glucose’ seems to be the most important substance for the active working of ‘brain’. So, our system needs to supply it (glucose) in the required amount. If our system is not provided with sufficient glucose, it leads to feel us non-energetic and drowsy. For this reason of effective working of our system and our brain ‘Breakfast’ is very much needed for everyone from school children to old age people who are in the second childhood stage of their life.
