well, i do agree with the beer, but that would just make you an alcoholic because of every social event you'd go on. okay. first things first. there is no drug or supplement to help you overcome your shyness or become more social. it's all in your head. honestly, i doubt you went to a therapist and didn't have any help. they probably told you that the best way to become more social is to get over your fear and blah blah blah. the truth is, YOU have the power to control yourself and in controlling yourself, you will be able to open yourself up to social situations. in all honestly, though it sounds mad crazy, is joining the military. hahaha. no, i'm no recruiter, but beings that i had the exact problem you have, i found a way to overcome it. when you end up hating your drill sgt in just the same way as the other soldiers around you, you become a team and a family. your shyness disappears totally and you find yourself more social and ready for anything life throws at you. but, if you dont want to go that route, perhaps you can choose a setting more comfortable for you. another thing is to ask yourself why you are shy. is it because you don't want to be in the spotlight? why? ask questions. only you have the true answer. yes, i got a little ghandi there, sorry.

Any drug, including alcohol, is a really bad idea for shyness.
It just masks the problem.
I was shy until I was over 21.
Talking to people, and meeting people is the best way.
Even going to a shop and exchnging a word or two with the shop assistant would be a good start.

I don't think being shy means you have a problem, considering some blunt and rude people are more problematic to the society. Similarly, If you're born as an introverted person, you must realize what's attractive of your such personality. I think that's where the actual confidence comes from.
Also there are many forms of shyness, such as of touching, talking, fear of intimacy etc... If you wish to overcome the shyness towards opposite sex, my suggestion is learning dancing. I've heard ballroom dance could boost up confidence and make you more social.

If you are a natural person you should try cognitive behavioral therapy. It was the only thing that has helped me with my horrible health anxiety. Read here https://tr.im/RemediesForAnxiety
Your thinking determines your quality of life. Your thinking is what causes you these feelings:
Anxious, fearful, stressed or depressed
Constantly worried, or angry about something that is happening in your life
Struggling to overcome obsessive and negative thoughts.
If you change your thinking, you will change your life. This is the basic idea behind CBT for anxiety. The Cognitive part is where you learn nee methods and ways to change your same old habits and thinking patterns. If you keep thinking and expecting the worst – You will continue to suffer.

drink some beer...not trying to be funny but it will help you losen up. there is no drug to make you less shy thats just the way you are. the only way to change that is for you to take a stand and to join in with the fun, start talking and having fun!

you don't have to go to therapy. Just go to a family practice doctor and tell him of your problem. There are wonderful prescriptions available. It will make life much more pleasant for you.

it's called self esteem. just look in the mirror and tell yourself that you can go out anywhere with confidence in yourself and have a good time meeting new people and doing new and exciting things. you can do this, have faith in yourself. nobodys going to do it for you. you dont need drugs it's all in your mind. JUST DO IT ! ! !
