Self confidence is almost impossible for a woman to have nowdays because we are inundated with the image of the "perfect woman" constantly. And let's face it, very few of us measure up to that standard. Since you didn't mention any anorexia, bulemia, self mutilation or anything like that I don't think you have BDD, or Body Dysmorphic Disorder. You do, however, sound like you are at risk for it. BDD is where a person's body image is so different from reality that they are driven to obsessive acts to obtain the perfect image. I suggest you talk to your doctor about your concerns. They can get you in touch with a mental health professional who can help you develop a healthy sense of self esteem. The most important thing is to nip the problem in the bud before it becomes a serious issue to your health. All the best to you :)

Of course it's in your head. How many times are other people going to have to tell you before you listen? Why keep asking if you are fat, when you will not accept any answer but "yes?"
That's not the problem, though, the problem is that you care so much.
There are far more serious things to worry about in your life and the world around you than whether or not you are fat.
Stop being so vain, superficial and self-absorbed.

The OCD is a possibility. Here's another. In the fashion industry, only the models who are stick think seem to make it anywhere in the biz...this gives girls a distorted sense of what should be sexy to men. Let's face the truth though. Women were meant to have some curves...stick thin women don't have these...they have bones. Love your curves...I have talked to many guys on the subject of weight...they like the curves girl...accept that you are a beautiful and figured girl...don't think you're fat. From what you said, you're not. Listen to them...not just hear them.

You know, I have a friend who is absolutely thin, but can't stop saying she is fat, and she wears the people out by discussing her diet. Have you ever thought it could come from the feeling of insufficient attention people pay to you? As for me, when I lack attention, I start boasting or pretending unhappy so that somebody comes up to me and asks "What's the matter with you?" Open your eyes and see how many nice people and friends you have around you, they love you and you are happy to be with them. Look around and see how beautiful the world is, and how different are the creatures living in it, all of them unique. And after that you can think of the things people really can be sad or worrying about - their parents, children and beloved ones. There are disabled and just ugly people, and you are happy to be pretty and unique and to be surrounded by so many nice people!

With all of the eating disorders and other problems with weight ALL OVER society nowadays, you may be gorgeous but think you're fat, based on what people said on TV. Your perspective is most likely biased from what's all over the place in present-day society, and my guess is you're not the only one.

no. you are not fat. you are a little brainwashed by popular media where most girls are almost, if not, anoxeric... another thing is that you are probably young, so most of your life is in upheaval all the time, and your appearance is one of the things that you have absolute control over. so, when you look into the mirror and say that you are fat, it is your way of telling yourself that you are in control of yourself.
