I'll tell you this: if it's a liquid and it can't fit into a small ziplock bag, you're not going to bring it onboard.

I just travelled, and I can tell you that you can take mini shampoos on, but not big ones. Just pack it away if you question it.

HOWEVER normal food--crackers, sandwiches, etc are fine. We went through Logan Airport with Panera Sandwiches and they were fine with it.

You can go to the website of the airline you are booked on. They will have a complete list of what is and is not allowed, weight restrictions, etc.. However, it is always up to the final discretion of airport security and gate personal. The airline website can give you the jest of it. Also try www.state.gov and look under international travel. They should have useful information as well.

Try www. TSA.gov (Transportation Security Administration)

Here's the TSA site for permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm I'm sure the Canadian government has probably coordinated their regulations with these... most of Europe does too.

Try your Airline website. They should tell you what you can and cannot bring onboard.
