And cheerfully refund every last penny they ever gave to the offering plate from the time they were small children--after all, they were giving freely expecting God's love in return, and He reneged on the deal, so it's only fair, right?

It's an abomination to the Church because it's an abomination to God and His Word. As far as the question of money, The Bible says that God lays up the riches and wealth of the sinner for the righteous. NO REFUND! I wouldn't kick anyone out of my church for being gay. I would try to correct them, but not kick them out. I'll tell ya, I really don't think many gay people would stay around my church considering what we believe, teach, and preach. I would guess that either they would get right with God or they would leave the church of their own free will without anyone kicking them out. I'll love them, and help them any way I can but, I cannot accept the fact that they are living in open sin and rebellion towards God. And to tell you the truth, what I have said would apply to anyone no matter what kind or type of sin a person is living in. I notice you did not use "Gay Christian" in your question. If your not talking about a "Christian" then that person does not belong to God thus, does not belong to the church. Can you kick someone out of something that they were never in in the first place? I don't think so. I don't see how.

Not quite the way I would phrase the question, but the sentiment is the same. Sorta'.

Hate the sin, love the sinner is fine. Also, we are supposed to call a sin by its name - sin. My problem comes when people are so judgemental of a person that they don't even give them a chance - they just turn them away.

We don't let alcoholics, drug addicts, abusers, adulterers, fornicators, etc. stay in or hold leadership in the church, but neither do we tell them, "Get out & don't come back."

I don't understand the double-standard that seems to apply to homosexuals.

But to argue against your assumption - we don't "give freely (offering plate) expecting God's love in return." God's love isn't based on finances. That attitude doesn't help matters either.

I don't think homosexuality is an abomination. I think God is probably more concerned with the abomination of homeless and hungry people literally sleeping on the doorsteps of churches. God hasn't reneged on any deal. It's the church that has let homosexuals down, not God.

Homosexuality is a sin. Sin is an abomination before God. Gay people do not have the market cornered on sin. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. And you are saying that gay people are due a refund. God nor His love can be bought. So it that is what anyone thinks who sins, then they would be much better off keeping their monies in their pocket. Where is there a deal written that if you sin and pay money you buy God's love? There is not enough money in the world to buy God's love. God's love is free and always have been. That is why we should read the Bible and get facts about God. May God Bless

You know God hates people that commit murder, he hates people that lie.....and so on. When you become a Christian you are saying yes God I agree with you, I need to change and live a proper life, now in the bible it says quit clearly that being gay is not natural, and is a sin. You can say that gay people don't chose to be gay until your blue in the face, but it is a load of garbage. We have to make a effort to live a Godly life, to those gay people out there that are struggling but want to lead a Godly life, that is different. But you can not say being gay is OK, and I can still be a Christian. Its not true. Should we kick them out of the church? It isn't ours to kick them out of. It's Gods, leave it up to him.

God had already set his laws and they are well known.
The bible also states that when a person or member is found to be in "sin" that person is counseled by another member, then a witness then when corrections is not heeded, then they are disfellowshiped. So actually they are not really kicked out by they are not be talked to if they remain in their sin. Anyway if they change their way and meet Gods requirements, they can be accepted back. But then in most Christen churches they don't follow what the bible instructs anyway.

If the gays were to be kicked out of the church, who would run the church?

The Catholic Church said that there'll be no kicking because it would loose 30/40% of it's priests.

i would give homosexuals priority in the church. i am a Christian, and opponent of homosexuality, but i think kicking homosexuals out of a church is the worst thing you could do.
