Yes- you got the right idea about the pain- picture having a severe migraine that light, sound and the smell of food makes you puke then add the pain of about 10 teeth that need root canals and put that pain -- well you know where, and oh, think about the pain you would feel if you were kicked in the cahones but kept getting kicked every 4,3,2,1 minute intervals for over say, anywhere from 4-24 hours-- that would equal the pain.

There is really no way to describe the pain of child birth to a man. You don't have the same reproductive body parts. Maybe slamming your penis and testicles in a car door and prolonging that pain for hours and hours. However the pain of childbirth can be relieved by many medications and relaxation techniques and it is a pain with a purpose. If women had to suffer the same pain without the reward of the long awaited child it would be a different kind of pain. I have heard it refered to as a joyous hurt.

Imagine passing a very large kidney stone every 1 1/2 minutes for several hours - that is about 1/100 of the feelings of contractions. As for the pain of actual childbirth??? Forget it - you will never understand
